Fitted new manifold gasket and shiny new stainless manifold studs/nuts - no more seized studs! (I hope!!)

Did you put some copper slip, graphite paste or stainless assembly paste between the nut and the stud? If not, you might not get them off again!

Yeah, copper slip on the studs.
Handy stuff!

Drove it back from Goodwood. 600 without a hickup, until the Speedo stopped working about 2 miles from home hahaha. Could have been much worse!

Decided to refurbish the steering rack by pulling it completely apart, cleaning it then attempting to put back together all clean, tidy and with new components like TREs and gaiters..... Note to self - don't EVER rebuild the steering rack by pulling it apart.... its a bastard to put back together again...

Replaced both CV boots on both driveshafts and got covered in CV grease - which stinks and gets everywhere no matter how careful you are...

Refitted the now refurbished brake servo.

Had my tea.

Tidied the interior of all parts and tools ready to start deciding where the hole is to go in the rear seat back support, for the spit roast.

Tried to do my first oil and oil filter change.

Got 50% there... changed the oil, but couldn’t get the blimmin’ filter off. Maybe next time... :D

What are you using to take the filter off?

I got one of these a bit back and it's great for the mini. It takes a little to get it to bite but you don't even need to take the grill off to use it

No link?

I use the filter grips once the grille is removed

Took it for a drive in the lovely weather, today and thought that the fuel gauge was playing up, so I took it to put some petrol in it and it took 30 litres, when I checked how many miles I had done this week it was over 230 miles :shy:.

Removed the front fuel pipes and protection shield thing that underneath the OS front footwell corner.

Cleaned all of the bulkhead of grease dirt and ******* thats gathered there for the last 20 odd years, came up nice to be honest.

Sprayed a coat of satin black over the prepped area. Got 1 of those big cans from Halfords. Never again, only painted half the front bulkhead and it ran out...!!

Fitted the newly refurbed steering rack, with new U bolts and plastic things. Looks nice to be honest... shame it'll have to come off again tomorrow to paint the rest of the bulkhead..

Replaced the tear drop shaped front subframe bushes... easy until the small bolts had to go back in....a bit of a challenge!...Usual tight spaces!
