Tried to do my first oil and oil filter change.

Got 50% there... changed the oil, but couldn’t get the blimmin’ filter off. Maybe next time... :D

I got one of these a bit back and it's great for the mini. It takes a little to get it to bite but you don't even need to take the grill off to use it

No link?

I use the filter grips once the grille is removed

Oops sorry here you go

Started fitting the period tinted glass in my Mk2 S and cleaned it after going to Stanford Hall last Sunday. Also fitted the '60s rrof console, still needs an 8-track stereo fitting into one of the holes.

Tested out the recently purchased Colourtune kit.
Mixture seemed to be good, but discovered a weak spark a couple of plugs.
Time to change the HT leads!

Finished the next phase of the upgrades, which meant refilling coolant w distilled water for now, richening mixture, checking idle, reattaching grille and front number plate.  What's left in this phase, well, he's low on petrol. :proud:

Over the course of the last few weeks; new front subframe and new d/s cone fitted/ride height adjusted. The new group 2 arch kit has been treated, resprayed and lacquered the same colour as the my classic mini, Hawaiian blue. All arches positioned, pop riveted and fitted. All seam and arch rubbers fitted. Bonnet and boot stripes removed, ready for new ones to go on, and steering wheel positioned correctly. Next step; new stripes to go on and alloys to be refurbed.

The end is near!

There's a little voice in my head trying to convince me to go to 10s on my equinox.
"It looks right, it will handle and ride better...do it"

But the calipers are new and the gold deep dish 12s are actually quite nice

..but they catch a bit and it needs a couple of tyres so.....

IMHO, and it is only my opinion, if it's a metallic paint colour stick to 12" wheels otherwise to some extent you're confusing eras of cars.

Hmmm.

But the '79 1100 special certainly had metallic paint. And 10s. With the (later standard) plastic arches and it looked the bomb.

Those 'exacton' wheels could also be found on mayfairs pre 12 inch. With metallic paint.

Pearlescent purple though. That's a different story. There's no doubt though, the wheels that are on mine look really good against the purple.

I'm probably not going to go 10s as I would only do it for gold exactons. Which means finding a set, and the proper caps and then painting them.. I mean I could
