19, two years no claims, all mods declared. £875

Funny thing was that when i told them about fitting wider arches and wheels that added an extra £200 or so to the insurance, however when i say I've fitted a stage 1 kit that doesn't affect anything! Insurance companies are strange... O_O

Unfortunately (or fortunately), you can't easily spot a stage 1 kit but you can see nice shiny wheels that are begging to be stolen...

I understand that, but i would have thought making the car go faster would have increased the insurance more than a set of new wheels, just being my age and the boy racer Molokai

Just turned 40 and paying 68 quid fully comp

Now that's just showing off!! :P

Possibly true - but there has to be a benefit for getting older! its on a classic policy with 2k miles, SDP, garaged. I got a 20 quid discount for having a removable steering wheel fitted. Best 68 quid I spend all year.

Im 21 passed in September and pay around £1000 insurance as a named driver on my own car >_<
They wanted a silly amount for me to be the policy holder :(

I obviously don't know your details, circumstances or what you told your insurance company, but the statement above a ring of "fronting" about it, which if it is, could render you without any valid insurance and potentially liable for prosecution.

If you are the main user of the car and have not declared as such, then that is what it will be.

Not wanting to be a killjoy, just wanting you to be sure that your are fully & correctly insured, for all our sakes.

No offence intended

Regards

Steve

No its fine :) Intentions were for it to be my car but the insurance was a tad high so the hubby stepped in and took it over. would rather see it on the road (even if i am a passenger rather then behind the wheel) then stuck in the garage while i save the extra pennies for me to take the car over lol

I'm 20 but started my insurance policy when i was 17 and all mods have always been declared and have added more over the years but the price has always been very close to £500, at the moment i'm paying £506 i think TPFT and on my own name, my mini is a 1977 leyland mini 1000. It's on classic car insurance with Peter James and includes break down cover.

Evan.
