I can't seem to get a job that suits me, I keep falling into sales based roles, which im not good at, will earn no money.

I did the wrong course at university, and hate myself for not changing/choosing something else.

Does anyone on here enjoy their job? and how did you go about getting it?

I fell in to mine, working in the right environment with a cracking bunch of lads makes all the difference (just don't tell them I said that!)

I work in a garage part time, I enjoy it at times, however I get down sometimes when I get all the **** jobs, but I quickly remember I'm the 'boy' do should except it. I spend the rest of my time maintaining my dads lorries and diggers, like today I had to put a derv tank on a lorry, but still enjoyed it, even though I ended up covered in diesel >_<

After i was made redundant from working in a garage, well, i wasnt happy there with the new boss, and was gonna hand my notice in the same week he made me redundant, so actually worked in my favour

Now I work at sainsburys 3 mornings a week doing online shopping picking, and i actually quite enjoy it, mainly took it to help me boost my self confidence with meeting new people. It also gives me a guarenteed income each month.

I also do a jobs on cars for extra money, which im getting a lot of work for at the moment.

I love my job - I teach science and engineering to kids with disabilities. I have a PhD in Biochemistry and was working at a top Uni when I did a mate a favour and went on a trip with the school his wife was head at (I have always been into outward bound type stuff and they needed another male adult). I loved it and changed career overnight. If I had kept on with Biochemistry I would have a better car and a bigger house (big deal)- but I spend my days helping some really great kids to get a start in life - oh and messing about with cars all day and getting paid for it. 'Rewards' come in many shapes and sizes, what price do you put on hearing a kid who came to you unable to read and thinking they were crap at everything gets a job as a mechanic and turns up with a car he has bought himself? Or watching a kid drive down the Mall in London in a car you designed in front of 50,000 people and hundreds of celebs? You are a long time dead and money isn't everything. Find something you enjoy.

i have 2 jobs.
both are ok and have there merits.
one allows me to watch all the free gigs i could wish for, the other gets me super creap prices on all my climbing and outdoor gear.
cant grumble.

although neither are what i want to do, i guess its the people that make or break a place.

I've done some crappy jobs for even crappier pay, one reason that i'm so happy to have the job I have now. If you choose to enjoy your day, it makes work so much more fun!

I so wish I did like my job but I hate it. The chaps I work with are a good bunch but, I'm just so bored of the job all day long as there are no jobs in, and it just doesn't interest me. Its poor pay, too many hours, and I hate getting dirty. I've tried going in with a bright out look but job creation just doesn't work for positive vibes. I just can't seem to get an interview for anything else.

I love my job (rac patrolman) but hate the shifts sometimes and company politics.

For years i wanted to be a mechanic, served my time then couldn't stand being stuck inside the same four walls. Started with rac a year after finishing my apprenticeship. That was 11 years ogo.
You get a sense of satisfaction when a customer drives away with a smile on their face, makes up for the shifts and the politics ;D

I was in your shoes. Didn't like the job I was in (Service Desk Analyst) so I applied for an apprenticeship (Gas Installations & Electrician). Now 5 months after applying for the apprenticeship, I've managed to get a Network Manager role and am really looking forward to starting it.

Basically, what i'm trying to say is: Keep your head down, don't let it get you down and everything will fall into place.

Yep I enjoy my job, its only a stop gap while im learning but its bloody good pay for my age, i work 4 hour shifts which is good and i have time to work on my mini, the money to work on my mini, i get to chat to the public and also its quite rewarding.

Incidentally I am a customer advisor at a Hotter shoe shop. :)

and its a million times better than my old job in a classic car restorations earning diddly nothing, doing crappy jobs and being genrally fecked over
