i have good days and bad days where i work (assistant manager at a plumbers merchant). the good days are when everything we have ordered turns up on time and the customers go away happy. i work with two really funny people and we have such a great laugh we are almost crying sometimes. the money is good too. most of the customer base are a right laugh too and they always say thanks if you go that extra mile to help them out which really makes you feel proud.
the bad days are when you get let down by suppliers and then the customer goes into one, sometimes really badly too, and the paperwork keeps building up, too much box ticking exercises to do for head office. or when you are working on your own and the phones keep ringing, someone is banging on the back door and there is a shop full of customers, it can get a bit stressfull.
also when end users come in and want something which doesnt exist, you tell them you cant get it and their response is "what am i going to do? i have family coming round this weekend!!. they are pretty much saying "i have a problem and now its YOUR problem!! it really winds us up.
on the whole i wish i learned a trade from school and worked for myself. i'd like to start up my own business one day but the UK is screwed for the time being.

I'm in a part-time job at Sainsbury's. I don't look forward to going to work but while I'm there, I've got no desire to quit and I have some good friends there and I get to meet the nice people in this world. Sadly, I also get to see the arseholes of this world too, and I can't say what's on my mind because of disciplinary action. Some people think we have some legal obligation to have everything in stock for them..
It could be worse, I've heard of people working in other retail jobs who are treated badly, so it's probably one of the better retail organisations to work for.

Im 17, Studying electrical engineering at college. I searched for a job for what felt like years, trying to find something to complement college. However this never happend.
I now work in Tesco's, it wasn't my first choice, but I cant complain at the money for 18 hours a week. It's flexible and the chaps I work with are great.
Still looking for a local apprenticeship, in my chosen career path, but I can't complain.
Good days bad days.

I wouldn't say I hate my job, but I do find it boring at times. the odd bit of Tyre fitting ain't too bad even if it's mostly onto freshly refurbished wheels, it's just the endless days of sand blasting I don't like.
But then after 3 years of being unemployed I can't complain. Although from all the CVs I sent out and the interviews I had, this was the only job were I just left my contact details (no work history or references) and got a phone call to start the next morning with not even an interview.

Only doing a temp job as uni has ended for the year but have spent a lot longer there than previous years (normally get contracts for holidays etc) already done 14 weeks this year, I must say it's fun, mentally draining because everyone there has an IQ of about 2 but made some good mates and can have a laugh.
