hes not stealing it! i no the angle your trying to come at it from but its not realistic, ill stand corrected if you tell me you spoke to the people who stole it and they said they are epic mini fanatics and broke the car down into component parts and sold them all getting rid of the evednce?

so clearly it wouldnt happen like that , thell just wack a difrent tag on it and sell it , wich means all the shells that are around are probably legit and therefor reshelling isnt hurting anyone.

If no ''tags'' were sold, they wouldn't be able to do that, which would discourage them from stealing it in the first place.

hes sugesting that when we buy a shell its of a stolen car that has been striped, im saying why would they strip them when they can do the above, hes saying this dosent happen, they all get striped, wich slearly isnt true!

obviusly the sale of logbooks aids selling a stolen car greatly but thats were arguing about,

AND, why are ringing and steeling always taken together, if someone wants to buy a legit, mk1 with a logbook, scrap the shell and then put that reg on there car, explain how that would hurt anyone?

to put that reg on their car the MK1 would have to be MOTed

it's then like a private plate transfer

I think your misunderstanding him... his not saying that the shell is a stripped stolen car but that the shell will possibly be scrapped and the identity used on a stolen car...

if that is what he means it dosent matter if theres a spare book floating around because if there wasnt they would just clone another car?

Why clone a car and invariably get caught when you can buy a logbook for £100?

You don't think the owner might notice when the DVLA write to them asking if they still have it?

Sorry are you suggesting assigning a mk1 identity to a later model (i.e. a post 72), in order to try an claim historic vehicle road tax exemption?

Well at least you're honest I suppose!

So you're saying that you think it's acceptable to defraud the government and effectively make the rest of us law abiding citizens pay your road tax for you??.... Oh and you think it's worth doing all that, risking a criminal record and having your car seized and crushed, just in order to save yourself £135 a year?? O_O
