I've done two long motorway trips for comparison this week
60miles at 56mph = 35mpg
60miles at 70mph = 38mpg

Whaaaaa?!

That might not be so strange. Like I said earlier in this post, I slipstreamed behind lorries most of the way to Wales at about 55mph, and couldn't be bothered on the way back and went at about 70mph most of the way and used pretty much the same amount of fuel both ways About £30-£35 each way... Plus going at 55 seems noisier than going 60-70 where things seem to smooth out.

Failed my MOT on emissions 3 weeks ago. I replaced every sensor on my SPi, I was getting 36 mpg, and on a constant long run at 70mph I returned 42, now after the sensor change I am getting 47mpg mixed B roads and motorways at 70 so I am very pleased.

Well I've just worked out my fuel economy for the past tank (according to the gauge! Could only fit 17.18litres in!) But on 17 litres, I managed 151 miles which I think works out at just under 40 mpg, not bad considering that with a bit of motorway blasting at 70mph and then town driving and its not exactly driven for economy! Had a trip down to Exmoor at the weekend, a 400 mile round trip. I know it's difficult on two tanks of fuel but my ropey maths indicate I got 49MPG! It normally averages 38 so I'm quite happy at that :)

its obviously depends what petrol tank your using.

i changed mine to the bigger one.

In the 1310 on the weber. i get around the 30mpg if i drive pretty well, if i floor it, i get around 15-20mpg.

with my old 998 i worked it out to be 46mpg

Usual town driving (10-15min trips) can get about 30mpg, cruised down to Himley last weekend at 60 and got 43mpg :)

Standard 998cc.

200 miles Eastleigh to London to Brighton to Eastleigh + 55 miles town driving = 24L of petrol used at £134.9P per L = 48.3mpg.

Happy with that considering all the queueing :proud:  My Capri used to do 27mpg...

L2b in my Mini (650 miles) , combined mpg of 49 from my mildish 1275 with 266, cruising at 80.

My MPi on 13's was getting more like 39-43 :)

I managed to get approximately 30 mpg on my way home from Brighton on Sunday. We were cruising at about 70mph, my specs are 1293, 276 worked head, twin hif4s and rc40. Was running on 97 Ron if that makes any difference
