Seen this sprint of yours about the web a few times and it always looks stunning, when you said its been 13 years do you mean you last restored it 13 years ago ? if so i bow to the way you,ve maintained this car Paul, genuinly one of the top mini's out there with alot of custom alterations by yourself which makes me glad its not a loss from this, glad to hear your (fairly) ok and hope to be hearing good things from you and the sprint soon

Cheers

Cliff

There seemed to be a lot more 'movement' at various places down the strip than in previous years. Didn't seem to be the wind but a few had a wobble at some point or another (driver or conditions? Who knows?)

Yeh, restored it 13 years ago from a 1960 shell.

I keep getting told lots of Minis went squirrely at the point where I spun and the marshalls were cleaning that lane after nearly every run

Glad to see that your ok, it did look nasty but as long as your ok that's the main thing! No doubt you'll get it back on the road again!

The marshals were going out from the beginning of the day to a spot near where it span, but it's hard to tell why etc, I did wonder this as it was the same spot almost every time without fail! From the skid marks t(hat I assume were from your spin), I would have said the were about 10 meters or so in front so I am not sure if that would have been part of what happened.

Good luck with it all, hope to see it back next year!

Not good then Paul but the main thing is you walked away. Anything can be rebuilt car wise but we humans are a different kettle of fish. O_O

A hell of an excuse for a rebuild though. Good luck with the rebuild. :D

Looks like you might have gotten away with a potential lot of damage, cant be sure but looks like its not moved at the door gap :proud:

New rear panel and quarters ? although you'll have to give those panels the "Sprint" treatment (Chop Chop) haha best of luck Paul genuinly :D

Thankfully its not as bad as I imagined, I had visions of it being like Darren Shedspeeds from a few years ago....

I assume your running a beam axle so theshunt has just pushed the back in rather than transfering the force into the heel board and floor.

im sure paul will have that pulled out in no time, its very flat across tha back isnt it, looks like it hit very squarely, which is probably a good thing, spreading teh impact out a little.

Bad luck mate, glad you walked away unharmed. Doesn't look as bad as I was expecting but I know you'll do right and get her sorted
