I thought it may have been willow green, but in a few photos it's looked a bit different haha. cracking choice of colour.

Sometime this year I hope ;-)

In all fairness I've not set a deadline as I would only be disappointed if I passed it but I would say that I`d hope to have it finished in about 3 weeks time.

Once its painted I cant see the build taking me much longer !!

Your welcome anytime mate, The kettle is always on for a fellow enthusiast ;-)

The only time I shall drive it in the wet if im honest is if I ever get caught out by the rain, I've other cars that i can use so there`s no real point me taking the Minis out if its raining but just in case the van will be getting the full treatment of Dynax wax treatment to protect both the underside and those hard to reach out of sight areas !!.

I'm hoping to catch a few dry days thou before the winter sets in as it would be a complete shame to have to put it away until next year without being able to enjoy the fruits of my labour just a little,

I have a Mini Ritz to get stuck into for a customer no soon as I've finished on the Van + I have my own Pickup to look forward too over the winter months so I shall defiantly be keeping busy on the Mini front until the show season starts ;-)

I'll be seeing this at Bingley then for sure ;)

Most defiantly you will mate ;-)

Today was mostly spent flatting down primer and filling in more dinks, Then I spent a good part of this afternoon trying to line up the rear doors.

As you can see from these 2 pictures when the doors were first bolted onto the van the n/s door sat quite a bit higher than the other,

So after a bit of fettling here and there they were in a much better position and both the doors lined up quite nice.

Just a little more time on these rear doors and I should be happy with there final position, Next job will be to trail fit the front doors and bonnet again to be sure they are also in the best position possible.

Its been a week since my last update and I've made just a little progress with regards to bodywork and lining up the vans doors.

Here`s another picture of the n/s rear door after a bit more fettling. A massive improvement over how it was,

It looks as thou its had a repair panel along the bottom half but it had a wooden looking strip along the centre, Both of the rear doors were very solid and needed hardly any work at all.

The next door to go on was the n/s one and after putting in the new door seal it kicked the door out by a mile,

Here is were I got up to with the today, The n/s door now sits nice and flat along all sides, I need to finish off with cleaning up the line along the quarters edge but its there now near enough, It also opens and shuts nice too all with the new door seal in place ;)

I'm hoping the drivers door will be a little more kind to me when it comes to trial fitting that one next week..

Evening all, let me bring you up to speed with my van project ;-)

I've been quite busy this week adjusting the remaining doors to fit properly with the new door seals fitted, It took me a while but I am now happy with the position of all the doors.

Here is a picture of the o/s door which is now sitting quite nice with its new door seal in place,

Once I was happy with the fitment of the doors I went around the van again finishing off the little snags and just making sure I was happy with how everything was as the time had come to get the van into primer (Yipeeeeeee)

So today was spent masking out and panel wiping down the entire van ready to receive the primer.

Finally after what seemed like an age to wipe down the van received a decent coat of upol`s filler primer.

I've just purchased a pair of original van wing mirrors but I`m waiting for them to arrive as I will need to drill a hole in each of the wings,

I don't want to be drilling just anywhere, I want to be sure I can see out of them first before I take a drill to it. I will need to change the circular glass within the mirrors too, Does anyone know if they can be changed or will I need to glue new ones over the top of the existing mirrors...

Its great when the primer gets laid as it transforms the look no end. Plus it good for pointing out any pinholes missed before hand ;-)

Fair play mate, the best fun starts once its in paint and you can start bolting it all back together, I'm looking forward to that bit lol...
