So, no photos I'm afraid, but.. my mechanic/paint guy has been over and reviewed my Clubby.  He had a good look around and (as someone with a lot of Mini rebuild experience) gave it the thumbs up, which was a relief to be honest - you're never quite sure you've bought a good one.

So, he is now going away to put together a quote for bodywork/paint.  Watch this space, if the price is ok, the project may soon be leaping forward :-)

Today, I committed to my Clubby having its bodywork and paint done professionally in the next few months.  Watch this space for updates, but the project should be pushed kicking and screaming forward very soon.

After much deliberation, I have also chosen the colour, more of which later.

Cheers

All being well, should be in primer in the next week or so.

Thanks, making better progress than I am clearing my garage for its return!  Next up, I need to collect the subframe and start getting them built up.

A question for you.. do you have any spacers on the front of yours, or are you running discs?  The reason that I ask.. I bought Group 5 arches for mine, as I was told that with the 6x10 Mamba wheels I'd need them.  However, the guy doing my bodywork suggested that the Group 5 arches would be too much and the wheels would be lost within them.  My original plan was W&P, but W&P said I'd need Group 5..

Cheers,

Stu

Hi Stu,
I am running 10x6 starmags, 165/70/10 tyres with disc brakes and original W&P arches and they fit them perfectly

Thanks for this.  Given I'm on drums, it sounds like without spacers the Group 5s will be too much.

More good progress.  The shell is in primer.  I am due to pick up subframes early next week to start the build up.  Some photos:

Thanks very much.

I went to see it in the metal today, first time since paint went on, and I'm now really looking forward to the rebuild.  Some photos from today..

Powder coated sub-frames are home now, so need to order some bits in and get going!
