Update: Once I got the car painted I wanted to throw some bits on to make it look more complete just to give myself some motivation really. Fit an old janspeed centre exit exhaust and the rear lights. After cutting and welding the turbo downpipe a few times I was able to get the exhaust to sit up quite well unerneath the car which I'm pleased with.

I then built up the turbo and manifold to fit hopefully for the last time for a while.

and made some barbs for water lines and vacuum hoses.

I am now doing the wirng. Using a standard loom as a base but hacking it up a fair bit as I want it all hidden and my bulkhead clean of any holes.

I'm fitting plugs where ever possible just to keep it all neat.

So that's it for the moment. Hopefully have it running in a couple of weeks all going well.

Been chipping away at this a bit more.
Got the tappets set first.

Then the fuel system all plumbed in.

Welded a flexi into the exhaust and then lashed up a mount to secure the downpipe to the diff housing.

I bought a cheap lightweight battery off a recomendation from a mate and so far all seems well. Made some battery cables and fitted a battery cut off switch while i was there. Still need to secure the battery.

I cut the loom up a bit and converted to a centre ignition switch. I then spun the engine over and got oil pressure up.

Finally I made some ht leads.

So then after the carb float sticking and filling the engine with fuel I gave it a go and it started straight up.

Everything seems okay at the moment for the most part. I havent got any ic pipes plumbed in at the moment but it runs happily enough. A mate came round and helped me with the megajolt software and got it idling alot cleaner. It seems a little smokey at the moment but hoping a run and a boot on the road will cure this (itll be a miracle if it does )
Only real issue was the crank pulley trigger wheel bolt hitting the rad cowling and machining itself away a little. Small tickle with the grinder and a hammer sorted this. Next job is to put the front on and work out an intercooler set up.
