In heindsight, if evolution (on 16vminiclub) can get 195hp on a 1.4 turbo, i should be able to see these figures without too much boost.

i read his project its mad. he fried a couple of turbos before putting a dumpvale on it lol.

good project Dave.

i doubt not having a dump valve with a turbo would fry it. My nissan doesnt have one and its running 1.1bar and still going strong and know lots of people that do the same. but there is alot of mystery around dump valves, and arguing it will open a 9/11 sized can of worms.. which really isnt worth the hassle..

each to their own on the dump valves. :P

I got the throttle bodies today, and have stripped them right back to their bare bits ^_^ I will follow up this post tomorrow with pics and what-nots of what i did with them to show you my seedy little plans.

While im here, if anyone has a spare k-series inlet manifold (bare or complete) im looking for one myself. MPi and pref the plastic one.

Over and out!

Yes it is indeed. This conversion has set me back £697 exactly so far. The only thing im missing is the offside engine mount which i hope to pickup for under £10.

I'll have a look at my dwindling K-series bits tomorrow Dave - if I have it'll cost you a couple of squid for postage I suppose

...and it was fikus who posted about the 1600's - i was being sceptical. Don't mind being proved wrong though :P , although it seems that some headwork is required to get some decent power out of it.

Cheers al, it would be most helpful. :xxx:

I wasnt really arguing the point on power gains on a 1600, since i dont really know what ill get myself.but was suprised to se a power graph of a 1600 k showing 150.9hp. Here it is below from 16vminiclub.

(1600cc 16v, port and polished head, 3 angle valve seats, vvc inlet manifold and 56mm throttle body - noiseymini@16vminiclub)

Heres to hoping i can reach something similar myself, as that would be a nice rapid mini!!

Anyway, here is a little update again, as i recieved my throttle bodies the other day.

The complete throttle body, with injectors & fuel rail, TPS's, Map sensors and loom.

Removing unwanted bits, its very clean indeed. To be expected from a bike that only covered 2000miles +/- a few.

Stripped down ready for correct spacing. Removal of the second butterflys and throttle linkage.

Thats it so far, i have more pics of this but dont want to give tooooooo much away yet :(
