intent to be running a set of Throttle Bodies off a GSX600R.. these have been successful on a 1600xsi with MAP sensor, piper cams & pullys, stainless manifold and maybe a quick skin of the head
Which ITB's are they Dave? I want to get some for the Vaux engine but they kit from SBD is over £1800
Here y'are Tim.
mighty mini, can I be cheeky and ask how much you paid for the engine and box?
I was thinking about a turbo on mine, but now I've read that IRO 150bhp is possible, well, I may be keeping it N/A!
To be honest, a mini with 100bhp and a five-speed gearbox is good enough! But to think that 150hbp is achievable with three angle valve seats, a different TB and a bit of porting, well, it's all good!
What cams are you looking at? I did look on the piper website the other day (jusr browsing), but didn't find much on there. Don't even know what kinda profiles are standard and how a longer duaration/higher lift cam would behave on one of these engines. Is it not worth looking at second hand Elise 135 heads? Aren't they fitted with lairier cams than the standard K?
I've got a mate who is in the Elise scene, I migh task him to keep an eye out on the Lotus forums etc.

I bought the engine off a guy on 16vMC, but as he was in kent and i was in cornwall, he kindly removed the engine from the donor car and all the other parts i needed. To the hansdsome sum of £250 not bad considering it had 58,000 on the clocks.. got them aswell hehe.
I would like to see some good figures from this setup yes, i think i want something quite tasty cam-wise, lotus' will be better but dont think its quite what im after. A good route if you can be bothered is to get the VVC head and fit the piper kit which also converts it to solid cams. They have better heads on the vvc, valves and ports are larger too.

went down the workshop today, but dont you just hate it when you get the days when it doesnt start well? I had to do some work on ~yello~'s mini and after that i was pretty lost with what to do.
I did however link up the thottle bodies to the pedal. Played with that for a bit and made vroom vroom noises.
Then i got the gear linkage all sorted, it just needs mounting and a rubber boot made for the hole.
And i ground back some rust on the front wishbone which needs a plate welding on as i cant get the bolt out. If i snap the bolt the frame would have to come off.. so im not risking it!
Still in need of a Van/Estate Wiring loom.

I've noticed that there is a VVC head with the conversion kit on the MG-rover forum somewhere!
