The Project car after two weeks so far as fitted, New Genuine front bumper, Mk1 surround(grille on back order), all important air horns, works lamp bracket, 4x Cibe Oscar Plus lamps, halogen head lamp units, clear indicators, Genuine(only the best) Sports pack wheels and arches with yokohama A539 tyres, stainless sill trims, play mini exhaust, K&N filter, alloy interior door fittings, mountney steering wheel and a complete set of new switches. Original HiLo's and GAZ shocks are waiting to be fitted. The whole car needed a little tidying up and still needs new seals all round. The engine was running badly and ended up pulling the whole fuel injection system apart only to find the vacuum feed pipe for the ECU blocked with fuel, it now runs somewhere near decent. The brakes wern't up to much either so the pads and shoes were replaced checking everything and found a rear wheel cylinder siezed, this is just waiting to be fitted but at least it now stops in a straight line even with this.

So on to the project engine. I've been at this project only a little at a time since February this year collecting parts mainly on the worlds greatest mail order catalogue Ebay(well it is if you know what you are looking for)and is, well, the ultimate A series ungine build, 16 valves, 1275cc, turbo charged, electronic fuel injection and ignition. I'M still at the moc up stage, but the block will be going off for machining very soon and I'm now in posession of a brand new crank.

Your questions and views would be much apreciated, but until the engine is complete there will remain a certain amount of secrecy :cheese:

just a mild 7psi, because any more and I'll either be looking at a box of broken bits or a grands worth of crank, 400 quids worth of con rods and another 2 grand for the gearbox and drive shafts and I ain't made of money. Then again I might still be looking at a box of broken bits, but it would have been fun :cheese:

Fumbled, though that wasn't difficult on this forum. Yes it is unfortunately BMW,but at 200 notes for a complete BMW engine who's gona complain when KAD's is around 2500notes just for the head :saywhat:

i remember a guy in miniworld ages ago trying to do this, didn't know wether he succeded.
My question is how will you make the bottom end stand the extra power even with serious mods you're gonna be pushing it!

You must be talking about a crank that had every strengthening mod thats usually done, if not a billet...

Uprate a few bits in the box, uprated clutch, and definitely mahoosive brakes!!!

Its not the crank thats realy the problem but crank retention, so four bolt cteel center main is a must as is a complete mains line bore. I'm using a new crank so the fatigue life is known, and a turbo block with the plain bottom main bearings, and I am not going to be continioulsy be driving at 6500rpm, there shouldn't be much problem, the gearbox is however. Do remember that the mods planned are considered mild - standard cams all be it off the bike head, 7psi boost and an un flowed 16 valve head. The bottom end will be almost standard. Oh and oil cooling for the pistons. Output at this momment is unknown, but recalling Miniworlds 16valve KAD conversion on Bogus put out 120bhp on a standard bottom end into a KAD 5 speed box
