My first Mini. Broke up not 3 months after painting it due to chronic rust.
Posted Image

My project 998 Mayfair that got totalled by an LDV van.
Posted Image

The black Mini that donated all its good stuff to our current Mini. Most rust I have ever encountered up to yet. I pushed the boot floor out with my
hands!

So stripped it of all that was still useful and chopped the rest up

Hello, that was my car. Yeah a trailer would've been good but few factors stopped me from doing it, didnt have much space (wasn't even my house that i built it at!) not enough time and it was all burnt and rusted. Dont think weld would have really worked on burnt, rusted metal lol. But would have been perfect otherwise! >_<

This thread is very disturbing for me, all these minis cut up >_< , that might have been able to be saved, except the burnt out one thats properly twisted after the inferno.
Seeing all these minis like that makes me feel really unhappy. :teehee: :dozing: :dontgetit: :D :( :( :(
Tell me to shut up if you want, just my opinion.

My doner car, bought for 95 quid. Eventualy sold everything well after running the engine in mine for 5 months for about £160. Good deal I think.

It was pretty rusty mind, I kicked it in the rear quater and my shoe got stuck. Someone used to kick back in it when I wasn't looking, found newspapers and food wrapers in it one day.

My black one was cut up to repair one that was a back end write off. So one died but another was saved.

Hmmm. And people complain about Minis being traded in for scrappage.

"Enthusiasts" are responsible for far more Mini deaths than people that just have them as a car IMO.

so are you sayying you have'nt stripped and killed a mini then Mr Geehawk ? :teehee: ( not a dig may I add >_< )
most of the ones I have stripped have been scrap anyway £20 - £80 bangers which should also show how recent it was :dozing:
its the natural course of selection the weak die for the others to survive and the fact that every mini I have broken 99% of usable parts have been reused
that harvest gold M reg for instance was a proper rotter the only thing holding the rear frame in was the vallance :( but there are bits of that car all over the world the steering wheel and wiring loom are in China or Hong kong and the bonnet is on my mini and I still have its 100% rot free doors awaiting fitting :dontgetit:

I also knew it would sort of bother some peeps posting this thread Sorry but its just a car you know metal that rots away anyway if know one buys them and makes use of the usefull bits then the whole lot gets scrapped :(

so for every one mini that dies a few are helped to get better by parts donation :D

I havent broke one for about 5 years now but no doubt will brea others if I decide they are only fit for it :(
