The only one I have digital pics of, the rest were much longer ago.....
Posted Image

Cosmetically a wee bit scruffy, and needed a new wing.

The sills, floor, heelboard etc were all 10% rock solid, original and rust free...
Posted Image

Even the original subframe was not rotten....

Yet if I had traded it in for a new car and got £2000 discount, I would no doubt have sparked 7 pages of people moaning about the waste of a mini.

so are you sayying you have'nt stripped and killed a mini then Mr Geehawk ? :teehee: ( not a dig may I add >_< )

Nope. The Clubby I have now is the first car I bought/owned, I've had it for over 20 years. In that time it has rusted & been repaired on numerous occasions. It is on it's 5th engine, 4th set of seats, 6th set of wheels, 3rd rear subby. If I want a different style I change it, rather than sell up and start again. It is my only Mini.

the one in my pic here
<<<<<<<
I rebuilt it 20 year ago (first one) and then sold it after a couple of years. The guy who bought it totalled it I gather.
Dead.
Never mind, its only a car.
Jas
ps. the pic is before the rebuild

Hey Mr Geehawk, we share the same wheels. We should start our own little club.

The 1100 Special my dad bought and put back on the road. It's the first car I ever went in on the way back from the hospital, although it didn't have an exhaust at the time. I'm pretty sure it's in Mini heaven now.

so out of interest, why did you scrap it then? It certainly does look solid. Couldn't you have just given it away? or did you need it for parts (engine etc) ?

Jebus! Geehawk - I was parked infront of you, last year, at the Malvern Classic Car Show! I was in the 1980's category!

I noticed the Mini there and recognised it, but didn't know why!

Really sorry!! :D

^_^ :) :o Even this purple mini looks solid :D Why Why Why :dontgetit: :dontgetit: :dontgetit:

because it was a bodged B****** and not worth the effort to sort all the bodges out
I did a fair few and drove it for a while but it was too bodged :mrcool:

and the engine was worth more than the car ;)
