The 'First Chapter' reached 100 pages & I maxed out my photobucket so I figured it's about time for a fresh thread & a new photobucket account
More detailed, more photographs & more updates ;D

It's also kinda split down into two halves, the first thread was the running until she failed the MOT and then the big strip down, and this thread is the re-build!

So what's new since the last update?

A MIG gas fed welder & my parts have been sandblasted and powdercoated! (picking them up within the next week)

List of the next few things that need doing,

+ refill the gas canister, buy a few consumables and a mask and start practicing.
+ get the sump plug helicoiled.
+ pick the sandblasted & powdercoated bits up.
+ put the engine back together.

Thanks guys

I'm getting my sister to pick me up some cans of high-build primer tomorrow whilst she's in town, so I'm going to make a start on sorting a few rusty bits on the bulkhead tomorrow.

Also need to pick up things like c-clamps, spot weld drills and a small electric saw of some sort for precision cutting, any recommendations for the cutter?

& don't forget I'll be at University in about three weeks! I will try and keep progress going but I've no idea how often I'll be coming back ;D

Agreed!

There is very little you can't do with an angle grinder. I'd love an air hack saw but my compressor isn't big enough.

Good luck with the rebuild.

I definatly agree on the auto darkening mask against the hand held versions, leaves the hands nice and free.

Answered matey! But remember, I'm learning as I go just like you ;), there could be better methods, but the way I've been doing it seems pretty thorough and where i've done it, I've not had any return of surface rust through the primer or anything so I guess it's doing the job.

Off to the garage myself now!

Ahh same welder as mine!

Good luck with the rebuild man, feel free to ask me about the welder if you get stuck or anything.
