I was wondering today...
Is there such thing as clear rocker covers?

I mean, theres loads of us that run some nice porn as rockers, and I was wondering if there is a way of showing them off?

Cheers

im sure it would just get splattered up while driving, maybe an item for shows, where the engine isnt actualy ran and so keeping the rocker clean

Ive been looking at the prices of a new rocker cover recently and i cant beleive they cost as much as they do.
I want something special as a cover. and a clear one would be cool. it would match my clear dizzy cap!
but yeah, i supose it would just get gunked over.
i really wanted a chrome one but there a bit to comon. I want something diffrent.
maybe i will get my old one airbrused or get it sprayed the same colour as the body work when the cars resprayed. hmm another decision. tut just when i think ive got everything planned!!!

Well the idea of swapping them over just for show sounds good to me!
I mean, I already have the quick release T bar jobbies....

Sounds like a cool idea, and would it matter if it got splattered up? You could probably make one...I remember making a clear plastic box at school, the only problem might be sealing the edges once youve folded into shape. And also it could melt if it gets really hot under the bonnet...lol. But it would look cool, so any other problems would be irrelevant.

there is a material called "lexan"basically bullet proof glass,it is very expensive but can easily be machined into a rocker cover with either a cnc or flo-jet.once completed gently heat the marks made by machining and it will turn clear.some bloke on biker build off used the same technique on clutch/water-pump casings on a cr250,looked mental as it was like watchin the engines "blood"being pumped round :) .

Nah I wouldn't want Glass, but clear rocker would be awesome I'd of thought... ahh well, seem it can't be done unless I spend £100's, and I don't have hundreds to spend on a rocker cover lol

I've got a Clear dizzy cap - or did have anyways!
Thats what inspired me to think about the rocker cover... would be something different, and if I get some nice rockers, quite different!

Richard - If I sent you some pennies, could you knock one up for us?
As I do only want it to show off what I have lol I could even give it a run and see if it melts at all.... but to be honest, I don't think under the cover is going to reach 200*c!
