Today at 4:50pm i went into town and stoped behind a lorry attempting a tight corner.
he started to reverse up and before i knew it we had a 10 car line reversing.

we all reversed about 5 feet until we culdnt go no more.

and guess hwo was still reversing.....and guess who was front of the que!!!!!!!

thats right me and my missus ;D :0

he had a reversing camera but told me he didnt look in it .............noone was hurt but oh man was we both shook up

i just saw this tailgate cuming straite towards me and then watched in horror as my front end started to bend and push up.

got towd to a bodyshop by good old recovery as i couldnt drive her anywer :D:(

i come to the conclusion i really hate lorrys drivers,,,,,,,,,,,,,especially ones that dont care they hit u and decided to carry on with their delivery while u are talking to their boss about the accident on the phone grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

damage is broken mpi grill....buggerd bonnet....buggerd grp front end.....possible buggerd arch.

PICTURES DONT DO IT JUSTICE AS IT DONT LOOK SO BAD ...BUT IT IS.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you got him to admit liability and you had witnesses. A friend has a similar thing happen when a transit van let his foot off the brake on a hill and rolled back into the front of my mate's car. He had trouble proving liability as damage to the rear of a vehicle is deemed as being the responsibility of the car behind. ;D

Hope you get it sorted out ok.

(I work for Volvo Trucks)

You ever sat in an artic combo, let alone driven one? I have driven everything from a 12t box truck to twin-trailer unit.... and I'll tell you now, it's not in the slightest bit easy.

Granted he should have used his reversing camera, but without it he can see apple all directly behind him.

The highlighted areas show where the driver can clearly see (on the left)

Man, what a *banana picking* arse!

Why have a rear view cam and not use it? Lorry vs Mini....you know who wins every time :)

My dad works for Volvo trucks and plenty of accidents happen but when the guy has a cam to show him whats behind then its just *rubbish*

Hope you get your mini sorted and get them to pay ;D

Does that not show you that he should've used his camera?! If what project-mini says is correct (which I'm not doubting) then how on earth can you even attempt to stick up for the lorry driver?! ;D

What a load of rubbish! Where in the highway code does it say that if you can't see you should carry on regardless?

It doesn't, I'm just saying that for the amount of things a truck driver has to do whilst driving, compared to a car it's relatively easy to make a mistake - and this guy did.

You try driving a vehicle which fully loaded knocks the scales just short of 40 tonnes, has 14 wheels over 6 axles, 12+ gears and bends in the middle, then come whinging to me about the ;D driving so close behind you.

So let me get this straight Rob... the lorry driver is completely innocent and can put his "mistake" down to the fact he was driving a big lorry and couldn't be bothered to look in his camera that excuses him from ramming into other vehicles?

And the driver of the mini is now to blame because he stopped too close?!

;D

No no no I'm not trying to justify the truck driver, I'm just saying yes he made a mistake and it's his fault - no two *bananas*' ways about it - but just be somewhat more sympathetic (project-mini....) than "I hate lorrys" without knowing his side to the story.

Maybe on some truck forum, there's a trucker going "so there was me reversing, and this damn Mini....."

Oh well.
Hope it gets fixed dude, love the 8-port bonnet ;D

Lets hope one of his fellow truckers tells him to use his camera in future then!
