if i were you i'd see if they'l settle outside of the insurance maybe?

At most all it will take it a new flip front and stick on bits. As most of it will need re-doing if it goes through insurance, the price for all those shiny bits against book value for your mini (unless its agreed value of course) will outweigh it imo.

If you went to them with a quote from the garage for spraying a front, and the bits off the internet it may save you time/hassle since the insurance company may be gay and send out an assesor. It rarely happens but can do.

I also wonder if they would try to fit metal panels again through the insurance. I would have thought it'd be like for like but ive never had to claim through insurance myself as fixing it myself stops it being put down as being written off.

and as for making delivery's, its his job and although these things happen he still has customers to supply too. If an ambulance reversed into you would you bítch about them tending to some guy stabbed on the pavement while you sorted your insurance details out? lol.

just looked at the pics again. and to be fair... that could all be fixed in an afternoon no probs.

I've managed to bring my banana front back from the dead and its starting to look pretty pimp.

If the driver really said he didnt check his reversing camera I would suggest he could be done for driving without due care and attention.

Im sure he would have been impressed if you had phoned the police, might have been a little more apologetic then!

Sorry to hear about the damage and luckily no one was hurt. That truck driver was totally negligent. As others have said, he's very lucky it wasn't a kid or an old person.

Hopefully, your car is sorted quickly and painlessly.

And hopefully, that truck driver has learnt a lesson today.

Sorry to hear the bad news. :P

I am genuinely scared of lorries if I am over taking one I don't hang about.

I remember one time I was driving to college and there was a lorry in front on a dual carriage way and I moved off onto the slip road and as the roads get closer to separating the lorry driver slows down and starts coming over at me from the side I beep and swerve and lucky he realizes his mistake and pulls back. I was as white as the sheets.

Thing is I agree that the drivers of these huge vehicle's have alot of things to do and have restricted visibility, but because of there shear size they are a danger on the roads to other people.

Whether the lorry driver was in the wrong or not..... no i'm not defending him here because as you've described it he clearly is.... but to start a topic saying "I hate lorrys" is purely asking for trouble. And to wonder why people start sticking up for him is sheer ignorance.

I'v seen idiotic driving from mini owners but i bet if i started a topic saying I hate minis I'd soon get a good shouting at on here!

I know exactly how you feel, the same thing happened to me, except it was a transit van, so even less of an excuse not to see me. I hope your mini gets sorted asap, but minus the hasstle that we had to get the money out of the un-insured driver.

what i meant was, its all repalceable easy and you'd have it back on the road in no time at all. no that its JUST shiney bits,etc..

your dad said that you couldnt buy it back or something, i cant see that being true though... did you have an agree'd value on the car? or is it going to get book value'd?
