The company I work for (based in Lichfield) is looking to expand its technical department. If you are looking for work, can produce detailed technical drawings to BS8888 and can use 3D CAD software PM me and I can give you more details.

When you are diabetic easter definitely gets better the older you get. I got given beer this year instead of chocolate. Its been a good easter this year.

Surely, beer (which is made up of carbs + alcohol) gets converted to sugars in the blood, so can't be good? I don't know, I was told that alcohol in general is bad if one is a diabetic... could've been wrong though

When you drink alcohol your liver has to process it. While its doing that it isn't using the stored glycogen that the body has. This means that the sugar in your blood drops and can cause someone to go hypo.

Hmmm, interesting. Though once the liver has processed it, surely the result is still sugars that the body cannot absorb without insulin so ones sugar level rises?

I think I like them as I always wanted them as a little kid but due to the icing on them and being diabetic I wasn't allowed them. Now I'm bigger I can tolerate the sugar a bit better so whenever I get the chance to have them these days I go for them.

Microsoft are supposedly killing of internet explorer in windows 10. What are we going to download chrome with now?

-
Cerberus
10 should be good though. Xp was good, Vista flop, 7 good, 8 flop, so logic dictates that 10 will be good, :D. I'll probably upgrade but only because it's free, otherwise I'd probably have stuck with 7 till games started using DX12.

No, that's wrong. Microsoft have announced an Amnesty kinda thing where even if you upgrade a non genuine copy, it will become genuine. i read about it in forbes. Have a look on their website http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/03/19/why-microsoft-is-giving-away-windows-10-to-pirates/

Have spent the afternoon going back and forth trying to make sunday dinner and fitting a wing to my mini. It's gone well apart from my mini now tastes of stuffing.

type 1 or 2? surely some sugar isn't that bad...
Mar 13 2015 07:22 AM -
M J W J
Type 1. everyone needs some sugar to survive but an excess (and most people have more than enough in their diet) will eventually lead to damaged blood vessels about everywhere in your body this can lead to (and there are reported cases) blindness, kidney damage, liver failure, and even having to have limbs amputated. I can give myself more insulin to compensate but it doesn't really do anyone any good to keep doing this.

I know, I'm diabetic as well and yes blood sugar level control is essential to being healthy.

If there is ever a good sign to say you should stop drinking I think this is it. Today I saw the picture of that dress that everyone is on about again. On friday I said it looked blue and black (which is the correct answer). Today with a hangover I swear it looks white and gold.

I've seen it on different occasions and the first time was blue and black and the second time it was white and gold! So I'm confused!

Apparently how bright the surroundings are to the picture affects the way it appears.

I managed to write off one of my learners' RC planes earlier today. Oops. Not good considering I am the clubs training officer

I'd rather have crashed it myself, the kid must be gutted. Let him fly your plane... for free

Yes, I don't mind when it's mine, but still get annoyed with myself. I bought some stronger springs for the monster truck because it's a PITA to handle in a straight line on tarmac @ full throttle, and the high centre of gravity does not help. I was thinking about getting a r/c plane or heli in the future. I think a 23cc heli would suit me better to be honest, but I can't afford it now anyhoo. Got too many 'projects' lying around.

The kid is a 70 year old bloke and hell no I will not let him fly mine. He can't fly hence why I was teaching him. He rolled the plane and put it in a dive. I had a split second to make a decision between going one of two ways (roll out or loop out) and I picked the wrong one unfortunately.

Had to laugh this morning. The technical director where I work took his wife and kids to the Bingley Hall mini show... on Saturday. Apparently the dog show was good though.

KERRRCHING!!! I was just transferring everything over from the pack that held my old glucose meter over to the one that holds my new glucose meter and I found £20 in there.

Spent most of today enduring jokes about looking like the defendant and polishing turds as I was being fitted for a suit ready for my sister's wedding in March.

Not a happy bunny today. Got into work to find someone has moved everything around on my desk, swapped my computer for a different one and then when I find my original machine (needed as its a specially built computer) it doesn't want to play ball.

-
Vinay-RS
That is annoying. Can't they use network licences? so then if you switch machines it is tied to an account rather than a particular machine.
Jan 08 2015 07:45 PM -
M J W J
Yes but my computer is the server unit for one particular bit of software as I am the only person who uses it. I can put the software on another computer and access the licence file from it but I still need my original machine connected to the network and in the correct place for it to work. A lot of hassle that was completely unnecessary.

Vinay-RS
Yeah and unless the "new" computer significantly better than the old one there really is no point.
