after a couple of weeks on axle stands it was great to take the GT for a blatt around Norfolk this weekend....not had a car that puts a grin on my face quite like this one!

3 1/2 hrs of spannering and the new steering rack sits proudly on the GT....bit of a tight squeeze that job!

Awesome, get a few pics up! Ive just spent the last half hour trying to explain to my housemates why its important to have these specific vents but theyre having none of it :D

Haha...yeah, not going to try and justify it to anyone....always going to lose that argument! I've added a pic to my build thread. Haven't built them both back up yet, or put them in the car.

just had a sneaky cycle round part of the Olympic Mountain bike park....and realised I'm unfit and I have small kahunas....man there's some big drops to ride down!

noticed the neighbour opposite has a new Fiat 500L parked on the drive. Hope he hasn't bought it...not sure I want to poke myself in the eyes every morning to avoid looking at it.....#toofatandugly

Yeah I like the "new" Fiat 500 - they've done a really good job on it. As for the 500L it's just proportionally all wrong......

just bought a pair of BMC rosettes for the GT rear windows....car built in '71 but BMC defunct in '66. Doh....but does it really matter? Presumably only to the purists.......

just handed over what feels like a relatively painful sum of money for some vacuum metalising on some plastic parts. Can't wait to see the results.....

Will do - I'll update my project thread when I've rebuilt the vents. Do yours look as good as they photo on eBay then? Def. doing some shows - been waiting for quite a few years to have a car ready for the show season!

Yeah they are nearly mint, only a few scratches on the black knob :) Ill have to keep an eye out for your GT, Im hopefully doing MITP, IMM and lots of local shows

realised just how big the alloys on my beemer are compared to the mini (or how small the mini boot is) - can't even fit one in the boot! Had to go on the back seat........

one complete lap of the M25 done today....met a fellow TMF'er (cheers for the carpet Chris!) and had an M25 mini convoy for a while with a green Cooper. Top day! :)

Slow puncture, leaky brake caliper & duff alternator. All relatively minor stuff but it means I can't drive it - frustrating!

jobs for next week? rebuild alternator & refurbish leaky brake caliper! small job done today - swapped out boot lock barrel - now have 1 key for all locks. Satisfying....

Dont suppose i could be cheeky could i and get a few pics of how you did it or an idiots how to guide?
