Not a huge amount of work needed...I've not used it for a year. It needs a cambelt and is tatty. Shame to see it sat on the drive to be honest....

I have thought the same. Still not sure though. May make a quick one from cardboard and stick it on. xD

Yeah good call - although they're not very expensive to buy from ebay - might just buy one and try it....

never thought I'd end up using silver leaf in a car restoration....that's usually just for restoring picture frames right?

I think there was a chrome wrapped Lambo at the Autosport show the other week - didnt really look at it as I whizzed past to see the old 70s and 80s motors at the back! But a silver wrapped mini would be subject for debate on here!!!

starts with silver leaf, before you know it..Decoupage, slippery slope

Isn't decoupage the old fashioned word for sticker-bombing? ;)

so pleased to have finally fixed the most annoying of niggly problems...finally tacked my carpet down with a minispares press-stud set. No more shifting carpet! :) :)

It's a nice catelogue shame it doesn't have prices in it, however it had temped me but I resisted

I guess by not adding prices means they don't need to reprint when their prices change. Well done for resisting!

That is probably the case and thanks, however it's because I'm going to be spending loads at mini fair :(

Need to refurb heater, search TMF, find there's a "how to" in Dec '09 Mini Magazine, search through big pile of mini mags at home, amazingly find said magazine. Result! :)

I could have done with that! Just done mine - well fitted one to my mini as it didnt have one and after all the trouble of tarting it up and fitting it etc, the heater matrix split and leaked under pressure - all out, new matrix, seal it all back up and Bob's yer Aunty!

Following on from the OCD thread....time to go and refurb some heater bits that once fitted I'll never ever see again......

....and my campervan's chassis that took me 3 months to bare metal, rust proof, zinc primer and spray 6 coats of chassis black.... Perfect mirror finish that only me and the MOT man will ever see ;-)

driving the mini this time of year makes me realise how comical a dash mounted push pump for the washer fluid is.....

Haha..love it! So what's the best technique then? Wipers on then pump or other way round? (I'm new to this technology!) ;)

The best way is to tackle it as a multi person effort - if a theres a passenger, get them to switch the wipers on while you pump :D Or if alone, get to just the right speed to hold the water on the windscreen and then wipe ;)

Either way it's a faff...best comment from the missus recently "You seem to be a lot busier behind the wheel when you're driving this car" My daily is a 528i Touring. Made me laugh...

100 mile round trip done in the mini today....bogs down a bit from standstill but otherwise faultless. It's been a long time since I've been excited about driving a car......love love love my GT :)
