Now the wait for my Valvolinr Vr1 20/50 Racing oil. My road mini will think it is its birthday when that 10/40 part synthetic is gone :D

someone told me 10/40 oil ruins engines, i am using that now and i think it has been all of its 52000 miles. Think i need tp change to 20/50 mineral...

How loud should tappets be? My oil is over a year old now, and it is getting up to temp but it is the winter, should a change of oil make them quiet? I only adjusted them a couple of months ago.

If it's a year old change it anyway, new filter too, only a couple of quid and 10 minute job.

i will be changing soon, but it gets a top up of fresh oil now and then anyway so it isn't massivly old. Can you hear your tapets at all? I used the readings of 12A engines in haynes manual the time I did it.

I hate how loud my Mini's tappets are :/ sits on idle like tractor. Only redone them a few months ago and since then they have been noisy. They were tights and had to loosen a couple.

fair enough lol had a fair few mpis where followers dish in the middle so tappet adjustment gets hard as the followers wear instead

haha! on the other hand I love overtaking them on the motorway. I pass them and give them a quick glance to the left as if to say you just got beaten by your little brother.

Mini keeps stalling everytime i change gearm had to thrash the life out of it. We had to stop on a 60mph road, then it stalled and nearly got rear ended by a peugeot :(

I hate doing that, feels like I am going to rip the gearstick off aha. I just have to try heel and toe whilst breaking and not being able to see. Fun haha

Choke does yeah, this is after I put the choke in. I think it is the not plumbed in manifold problem. Shouldn't be as bed when I fit twin HS2's

I am so paranoid about my mini, all the rust patches on it and the engine that I repainted and stripped is all dirty now, I can't appreciate it without worrying about it and all the problems it has :(

Just realised with this extra gauge I have bought, I havn't any holes left in the bulkhead to use, could put it through the same one as the oil pressure copper pipe but then I might split it :/

I am wondering if it is worth getting a set of Twin carbs for my 998 with stage 1 and 12g295 head. Why are they so expensive :(

I regret changing to a smaller fan couling as the noise isn't too nice. All i can hear is my fan >.< anyway, maybe my single box exhaust will drown that out. Anyone at the Autosport show on Sunday, I am :)
