Very common, mines yet to do it. I think you can get aftermarket metal ones to stop it happening again.

Yeah I tried to araldite them but it wasn't strong enough...going to have to get the repair kit and do it again

I am in a local club..might put the idea out there but ideally id want my own space...I have 2 project cars and cant resist things that come up and will no doubt end up with more..

Elephant was best for me on the mini. £470 it worked out to be. 19, 1 year NCB, Adjustable suspension, exhaust and manifold, alloys, interior and exterior modifications. All on agreed value and they have a copy of modifications list and pictures :)

If you haven't done so already advertise it on 16v mini club. Depending on the gearbox ratios you may be able to sell them and the shafts for a bit.

Right pain in the backside
Still got all the residue to clean off but I sprayed it with a food safe oil my dad got me from work and its softened it up so will just wipe off :)

Depends on what gas bottle it is. Have a search on google: welding gas in (insert area where you live) There should be somewhere near you.

Is a 10lb CO2 bottle for £55 and then £16 every refill an OK deal? And is 10lb enough..i will only just be starting to get into welding so will that be OK at first?

if my mini runs better the hotter it gets what does this mean? I.e when it's colder but Off choke it has big flat spots!! However today it got really hot in traffic...well pushing 3/4 on the needle and it very nearly got rid of the flat spots...it does need a tune up but can this point me in the right direction?

Im not really sure but in the cold it could be misfiring and the heat is helping the engine to make an explosion
