Haha mine looks the same mate, because they run hot they burn off all the paint so they look like theyve been left at the bottom of a lake lol

Because they run hot? What a load of rubbish. Get a cheap wire brush attachment and some Halfords high temp engine paint and you'll be sorted. The paint flakes off because it wasn't out on properly in the first place

How can he not fail you??? It's an emmisions test it has to pass and unless he physically swaps it in for another car with a CAT it's not gonna pass, however friendly he is!

The MEMS system on the MPI is not OBD compliant - I am not asking a question here.

They have the same socket as OBD, but use a different system.

Next on the list... A de-cat pipe for my MPi, bloody speed bumps keep ripping it open and I'm fed up with it! Gonna buy a new cat too and only use it on MOT days!

Most garages will have a reader, obd socket under dash next to steering column.

Bloody car not started this morning... So bought some easy start so we'll see how that works, dont want to have to push start the bloody thing again -_-

My MPI is running really rich, eating through fuel, and has a lumpy idle. Any ideas? Lambda? Temp sensor?

mpi works on a flywheel trigger, no dizzy, no timing mark, not adjustable unless you chip it

chipping it only adjusts the fuel, the ecu needs to be remapped which is not easily or cheaply done

I cant think of anything other than the oxygen sensor causing this? Surely a sensor that is clogged will bugger the AFR and make it run rich, hence the poor fuel economy?

Hey Noah, got the new wheels but theyre not fitted as the mo as the car is in daily use and dont want to damage them, they are for special occasions! Had some budget crap tyres on before, now got some Falkens that are much better, feels like a Mini again! On a less positive note, I now need to change the track rod end as it is dead and is wandering in corners...
