Reminder why I don't go to the local Asda - some guy walking out the shop at the same time as me got caught trying to shoplift something worth £1...

Today I made the decision (wise in my opinion) to not get a mini, as for my price range I'm looking at wrecks, so I'm getting a seat instead and saving for a mini, staying here though :D

Guys, I will be buying a mini in a year or so! Also, would I be able to post the odd non mini question on here?
Mar 06 2014 07:11 PM -
Harrison541
Yep, because the type of people who own Minis are quite technically minded you might find you get better answers on here than on a Seat specific forum.

True, but the money he wanted outweighed what needed doing to it, and despite my initial sadness I'm glad I walked away.

Not really, I think being able to drive anything when you pass your test is a bonus, nevermind a brand new Mini. It's a bit tragic that you think it's a fail really...

Fair play to the lad - not everyones cuppa tea but they're by no means a bad car :)

It's just a bit of banter between friends, I got the same treatment when I first passed in my mums ibiza!

Probably a stupid question but what are the coke cans in people's engine bays?

apparently having these cans over your coil can cause them to swell...

Taking a trip to pick up a mini on Saturday. It's 95% certain I will be buying it and driving it home then and there.

Do they limit your mileage? They charge to take it away too I've heard.

as usual, check for rust and don't be afraid of poking around underneath and under carpets. They shouldn't mind if they don't have anything to hide. If everything checks out mechanically, document wise and the price is right, then go for it

I'm hoping so it's less than 2 hours away, then a party that night so if I get it I can pull ;-)

Test driven a mini and a BINI now, the BINI wasn't as good as everyone makes out but the mini was out of this world. Best way to get someones price down?

Do I wait for a few years for my mini or get one now? If I wait I will be driving my mums car - which will hopefully by then be a 63 plate new mini

Traveling for the right car isnt too much of an issue - mine was 200 miles away, £30 odd on the train later I was there - if the right one comes up its worth the train ticket to see it!
Feb 16 2014 03:28 PM -
lukepilot
True! I never thought of the train, might be cheaper than driving
Feb 16 2014 03:36 PM -
HarrysMini
Definitely look for cars further away. You are really limiting what you find if you can't travel. It is very easy to jump on a train, if you do your homework before you leave, you could drive it away the same day to save on travelling costs too :)

When i told people about my dream Mini and how i wanted i got laughed at :) but now its coming together and proving those who doubted me wrong. Don't give up you will find your Mini!
P.s i found the best time to look for mini was autumn time a long time away i know but thats when people realise the project was too big for them :)

Thanks for the advice Vicky!
