My mate with the f56 JCW, has just fitted the valved exhaust.... my word...

blacktulip
explain please?
Sep 19 2015 10:23 AM -
Domneon
Brand new JCW, you can have a valved exhaust. Valve closed means you have a silencer, valve open means no silencer

Is neoprene/epdm foam flammable? But thinking about it you don’t see many people in wetsuits spontaneously combusting.

-
MaxAndPaddy
it is generally flame retardant, probably melt first

so it might just be suitable for use under the bonnet, as I'm looking for something that won't end up acting like a giant sponge with condensation.

It has a low melting temp. Wouldn't risk it.

Does anyone insure their Minis when they are SORNed over the Winter? How much do you pay roughly?

-
Corey96Williams
That's why I want to keep it insured Pingu. But it's so expensive, hoping for something like £10.

Some policies won't award you NCB if you insure it not to move. Check the fine print.

your best bet is to call them up as miles will obviously lower, state what garage it's in, stirring lock kept on, wha lock is on the garage i.e. master lock number 10 and they might drop it down for you.

Anyone here own a Bini, around 2001-2004. What is the road tax for 6 and 12 months? :)

Great car to drive and easily upgraded to Cooper performance with a bluefin.

Check the Rover gearbox on pre-2004 models for bearing noise, check everything electrical works and don't worry if the power steering whines. PS pumps can fail but are an easy diy job but allow £200 for a recon pump if it does.

Also look up 'death rattle' on Google. Had to replace a few engines in the past.

I think the 'death rattle' problems were only on the later Mk2 Cooper S introduced in 2007?

I couldn't quite hold back the tears this morning when a close, terminally ill, friend asked if he could have a last drive of my mini whilst he's still able to. Haven't seen him smile like that in so long.

-
RedRuby
Yes you did you entrusted your cherished mini to someone and made their day

I got given a washing machine and a microwave today. Cheer to my Director Si for that.

-
Vinay-RS
Do they work?

The microwave is brand new. I doubt the guy I have to work for would screw me over and if he has then I will promptly be dumping them on his front lawn

Got told to make a vtec build thread and nothing no Intrest so I take it its my time to not use this forum anymore

-
minilee94
I had like 6 people all getting excited about me making one wasn't any point that's why I didn't bother updating last thread of my 1380 anymore

Meh, build threads are for the builder really. I use it to share with friends and family on what I'm doing. I don't use the book of faces so this is what they use.

The problem is that most of us (oldies??) are still content plodding along with our A Series engines - other young fellas will pop in to look for something more exciting like a VTEC build - dont lose hope :-) Very few other forums out there that are so supportive and friendly
