Just started taking calls on the sale of the Moggy. I can tell already there's going to be some serious timewasters on this one.

sounds fair enough to me. I would welcome buyers to check through paperwork and check for matching numbers before parting with cash but if they started photographing numbers or writing them down, i'd ask them to leave

Love Moggys had several over the years. Is it on Ebay ?

No. Car and Classic. The white and red convertible in Wiltshire. Very optimistically priced (but open to sensible offers). Unfortunately, I didn't write the ad - a friend did by lifting an ebay description - and it's horrific and I'm going to have to re-do it. If you want something done ....

does anyone know what price scrap is at? Just phoned a bloke to take a car away for me and he said it's currently £15 per tonne. Seems low to me??

If you split the engine up into its separate metals (separate the steel, cast iron and aluminium) and cash the metal in at the scrap yard you will get a better price. Cast ally from gearbox housings and cylinder heads is worth quite a bit. When the scrap yards have to separate it, its not worth as much. Brake discs are worth a few bob as they are a good source of ductile iron.

Best way to check is to have a look at the sun now through your welding mask and, if you go blind, it doesn't work.

Ben_O
Thats a good idea, if i wait till the day then i won't know if i've gone blind or if the eclipse is lasting longer than expected ;)

Do a comparison first, look directly at the sun around midday, I'd say for around 5 minutes, then look at it through a welding mask. You're guaranteed not to see the sun! <before I get reemed, this is a joke and on one should look directly at the sun in any way, shape, or form without the correct equipment>

more like a few bits of data from some software that chucks out tonnes of data of which a large percentage is completely useless. Basically the pictures that I have saved look crap :(

I use Camtasia now to put together a lot of presentation videos. Just a screen capture and editing facility. It's dead easy to use. I know they offer a 30 day completely free trial which is really handy.

never heard of it. I'll check it out. Not sure it'll help in this case as this data is for a report :P

It looked amazing. On the TV it looks a bit too perfect, almost like a staged show, looks more natural in person. It gets brighter and darker, forms shapes that then disperse, and just drifts slowly across the sky. The glow follows the curve of the earth so you get a big arch across the horizon with a dark bit underneath.

there comes a point where you question how far you trust a 21yr old metro. my boss has asked me to travel from Sheffield to bilbao, Spain, and has said by any means i want, within a 500 quid cap. and I'm coinciding driving it for the lols
