Badge snobbery is crap - I had a Octavia VRS Estate for the longest that I ever owned a single car and it was brilliant - Ive owned (and do now) loads of Beemers, but I still miss my Skoda - awesome power and really p'*d off a lot of people with "fast cars". All I ever spent money on was a service and tyres in over 3 yrs. Looking for another one now to be honest!

Changed my oil, and now when hot my Oil pressure is showing 8-10 psi lower than before. Level is correct. Do certain oil brands give better pressure?

Drove almost 70 motorway miles today with an almost pancake rear tyre. The rusty 2 inch nail was the reason it was handling like a pig, not the crappy weather I was blaming :-) Love it when the tyre place goes "yeah, repair that easy - £20.00"

OhDear
if you have done more than 1 mile on a soft tyre i would bin it as the side walls will be foooked.

Nope. All thoroughly pressure tested and inspected. Nothing else wrong with it. Michelins are tough.

20 mile drive in the pouring rain, through pretty much flash floods and not one hesitation or judder from the mini :) Electronic ignition makes all the difference!

No, to reshape the arches as I got them not quite right when I made them.

Okay I might do a modern engine swap, sick of the a-series always going wrong :(

Best insurer to try for my cosmetically modified metro? Wider tyres, stainless exhaust and manifold, lowered...20years old old..2years NCD...1 own fault claim

Elephant was best for me on the mini. £470 it worked out to be. 19, 1 year NCB, Adjustable suspension, exhaust and manifold, alloys, interior and exterior modifications. All on agreed value and they have a copy of modifications list and pictures :)

The one I pulled from a 208 isnt too much bigger than an A series engine, the gearbox will of course add some size but won't be too different from the micra and honda engines. It was a ehdi 92 and was incredibly easy to lift around. Has about 92 bhp and 230 nm of torque

I think with a red conversion it would be silly fun

The vibration and wheight would be to much for the mini some of the more modern small ones will easily produce over a hundred brake but cost could be a bit high
