Elephant was best for me on the mini. £470 it worked out to be. 19, 1 year NCB, Adjustable suspension, exhaust and manifold, alloys, interior and exterior modifications. All on agreed value and they have a copy of modifications list and pictures :)

The one I pulled from a 208 isnt too much bigger than an A series engine, the gearbox will of course add some size but won't be too different from the micra and honda engines. It was a ehdi 92 and was incredibly easy to lift around. Has about 92 bhp and 230 nm of torque

I think with a red conversion it would be silly fun

The vibration and wheight would be to much for the mini some of the more modern small ones will easily produce over a hundred brake but cost could be a bit high

Is there anything wrong with charging the car with the battery still connected, shouldn't blow the alternator should it?

Hi shouldn't damage the car would just put extra load on charger if u have any extras like alarm or radio has constant feed these will still pull a small amount of current even though turned off I would pull a lead off if ya don't want to do that just make sure ur charger has overload protection

Use trickle charge only, don't use a fast charge facility if you charger has one.

Few tiny rust bubble repairs to scuttle, top of A panel, headlight seam and a bit of a chunk on the rear valance - £400 plus VAT. Jeez, you have to be either minted or do it yourself to afford a Mini these days.I can see why so many are just left to get really rotten.

Is that quote to rub down and re-paint the rusty areas or is it to cut out and replace those areas?
Hopefully the latter because mini's rust from the inside out, especially on the seam under the headlight. If it's just rubbed down and re-painted then you would just be chucking £400 away im afraid as the rust will return quickly unless its chopped right out.

Well, apparently not as a one man band. My guy (who's straight as anything) can only charge a max of £40 an hour. Any more than that and he loses out to other garages employing more than one person. His rent and everything has shot up meaning he's actually earning less than he was 5 years ago. 10 hours work is actually about right - little bubbles mean a bigger problem. Ok if you can work out of your own garage I guess. Biggest expense is overheads.
