AA to the rescue, Mini was reving in idle at 3000 rpm. Looks like air control value is locked open. plus my engine mount rubbers are gone. ��

Don't have the tools and with the engine mount rubbers gone, was thinking of getting both jobs done in the one go at the garage.

its only held in by two torx screws, worth trying as they're 100 bucks to buy
