The speed humps which don't go right across the road work for modern cars. If I take them at 30 in a mondeo then the car barely notices but they keep everyone down to 30. They're also cleverly designed to fit between the wider spaced wheels of ambulances so that they dont touch them at all.

Unfortunately my poor little mini has to slow to a crawl and I'm still trying to find a way through that doesnt scrape something!

i no they dont do nothing i know someone that can quite capeably drive over them over the speed limit so what is the point in them >

to get to my uni which i can see from my house off campus (literally a few fundred meters) i have to negotiate 8 speedbumps! and if i want to go to asda a bit further up the road theres about 10 more, i wouldnt mind so much if they were all one type so i could find a decent way over them all, theres a nice mix of ones that go all the way across the road, some in two's, some in three's (all different sizes) im almost positive they caused my subframe to fail lol

I have my mini about as low as it will go on the back without the arches rubbing when passengers are in the back, and a non standard backbox, never had any problems! If you are then it's either too low or your exhaust isn't mounted properly! Helps if you go slooow over humps as well.

toatally annoying. i have to go over them 5 days a week at least. the first time i went over them i thought there was something wrong with the position of my exhaust. :shifty:

i hate the scraping of the exhaust as i think that its going to create a big whole in it. the most annoying ones are the short thin ones that are a mile high and generally in car parks grrr.

when they thought of making them they should of designed them for all minis not 4x4's.

I'm actually GLAD to read this thread - I thought it was only me - had started thinking that my suspension was less good
then other Minis.

Getting the kids from school every day I go through a 20 zone with 12 pairs of square bumps.
I have to take them at about 5 miles an hour or the back end flies up (with 2 year old in it).

Has anyone had that Minitastic spring suspension fitted ?
Does it make any real difference ?

Best wishes
Monty

Only me who finds them quite fun then  :D

Espically with passengers, quite funny seeing the tall ones hit their head off the roof.
