Right, been ages since I've updated this. All welding and preparation has been done, new panels all over the place. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Point of reference, everything that is a yellow colour is original... which isn't a lot!

Bit of engine porn coming up... We took our 1275 MG Metro engine to Paul Inch in Plymouth for him to work his magic. Unforunately he's been a bit slack in telling me the exact specs of the engine, but this will give you a brief idea.

1293cc
Stage 2/3 head - valve sizes unknown
Kent 276/286 cam - not sure which
Fully rebuilt gearbox with standard MG metro ratios (same as Cooper S I think)
X-pin diff

Cheers for the comments guys. We're aiming to have it ready by August for the IMM... don't know if its possible! I finish uni for the summer in a week so will be spending an unhealthy proportion of my time in the garage.

Few more pictures:

We now have doors, and bootlid (it is there honest, just havn't taken a picture). We were meant to get the bonnet back as well but somebody in the paint shop leant something against it causing a nice big scratch, so thats still away being re-prepped and sprayed.

Had the rear subframe off to fit the brake and fuel lines, and the battery cable.

Subframe back on along with GAZ adjustables, hi-los, and goodridge hoses.

Front subframe off to finish off the lines with more p-clips and attach the steering rack

Unfortunately thats all I have pictures of so far. The front subframe is now back on having had a touch up in black due to some overspray. Brake lines all attached the subframe as well.

First job when I get home from uni... wiring loom :turtle:

Lovely stuff! Plenty of work gone in already to get it that good! When you putting on the stripes - they will finish it off a treat. White does look good.

PNL629G - stripes should be going on fairly soon hopefully. Bought a set at Bristol Mini Day last weekend. Need to get the new door seals on so the doors can be properly aligned. Ideally I want to get the loom and headlining in before that though.

Won't be any updates until I'm home from uni next wednesday. I'm itching to get on with it but got exams to do >_<

Cheers
Alex
