Thanks for the comments.

A frustrating day on Saturday unfortunately but all said and done I was happy come closing the garage up.

Nipped down to the garage on Monday and noticed my outer CV gaitor was split on the far side and cracked on the near side so I arranged replacements during the week as well as split pin for the gear linkage.

So come Saturday, removed the driveshafts in prep to replace the gaitors.

Then as I was replacing the gaitors I noticed this...

Great! Half 12 on a Saturday, so zoomed down to Moss who close at 1 - made it with 5 mins to spare after phoning in advance to check they had the part in stock - they also offered to leave the part in the bushes if I didn't make it down in time - so cracking service offered from them.

Went back on with relative ease.

Then came the real PITA of the day - split pin in the gear linkage. 2 hours of hell and can only assume the coating on the split pin made it particularly hard work as I had to file it slightly.

End result of the day which made it all worthwhile though

All 4 wheels back on the ground after 3 years!  :proud:  :D  :proud:  :D

It will be getting jacked back up for the manifold and also sort the 1 leak to each of the fuel and brake lines.

A question for you all though - my manifold seems to rusted over, gave it a quick sand but is there remedies for this?

Thanks!

The best (and most expensive) way to prevent them rusting is ceramic coating - for normal budgets de-rust them completely (wire wheel/blasting)then paint with VHT exhaust paint.
