Not back this week unfortunately but have arranged to pickup on Wednesday! Booked the following week off to make some good progress hopefully ![]()
Step 1: Get the engine back in and to the same stage it was prior to the drastic decision.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi All,
My Mini is back as can be seen happily tucked up in the garage at the end of today ![]()
Progress so far has primarily been taking steps back by taking off the manifold and stripping the engine from this
to this. With a bit of clean and sand down in places ready for a touch up thrown in.
All hopefully to allow the engine to get back in without any hiccups happening.
So after putting the wheels back on from taking off the manifold I wheeled her out for some photo's;
Anodised solid mounts for the front subframe
Another feature added since I am now not going down the flip front route
Minivation Hinges, tricky to get the knack of but brilliant bit of kit once you do.
In addition I have ordered some bits n bobs to help with my progress which I will update with at a later date.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for reading, bit of a painful read for 31 pages though since I'm still building though!
But ditto on the seeing it finished front, a lot of enthusiasm at the moment to help me progress.
Cheers,
Chris

The metal ones are good, because they don't degrade and disintegrate while the engine is running
I use the 16 blade metal one which isn't too loud, I'm not sure about the 6 blade one?

Proper blast from the past! I like the shot of the long grass with the mini in the garage :)

The grass grew
panky isn't wrong. Also 1 broken engagement, 2 houses, 2 jobs working away and a partridge in a pear tree ![]()

Thought a bit of context was required haha.
Minivation hinges were brilliant when dropping the engine in - plenty of clearance.
Next step get the engine connected up, sort out the brake and fuel leak I have and get it running again.
I actually forgot when I went to the garage that I had bought carbonweezel bumpers - that was a nice surprise....again ![]()
