I had a ford puma for 5 years,
I put 110.000 miles on it,
handled really well, was very quick having a zetec engine
it would take £30 to fill the tank and I got 330miles between fills.
nice car, ac/power steering. electric windows, abs traction control, nice stereo
get one quite cheep now

After my recent search for a vehicle in the £1000 - £2000 bracket to replace my Mitsi'

There are literally 1000's of cars which are perfectly adequate as a daily drive, and in some comfort I might add too...

Depending upon your age, if you want a car to feel 'safe' in then don't bother with euro-boxes... go for something with a bit of metal and engine...

Eg, I picked up a 8 year old Subaru Legacy, 70k Full SH, leather, cruise, climate heated seats all the tricks, £1400 (once Taxed and tested for a year). Ideal for the winter with 4wd and all this super fandangled vehicle dynamic control...
