ADAC cover is probably the best to take out for the trip. This year, Crocs got recovered after his crash, so he'll have an idea of the recovery cost. I think a figure of 200 odd Euro was mentioned.
IIRC ADAC cover was 70 or 80 Euro.
I took out AA cover, but apparently it aint really that good.

If you're the sort of person that likes to eat out, I'd say that you can get a reasonable meal locally for anything from 10-20 Euro per head.
Fuel costs will depend on the car and how much driving around you do (and how many laps you try).
I'd say that all in all, the trip cost me about £500, but I went out for meals most nights and had the odd beer or two. Oh and lots of Teddy'S hit. There may be rumours that I spent a lot of money on 'travel companions' from the gents' toilet blocks, but they are just rumours!

I *think* it's either 150 or 250 Euros to be recovered from on the 'Ring, and as Matt says only one company is allowed on the 'Ring. Up until a couple of years ago it was ADAC, now the contract has gone to another company.
It is still with ADAC, but its not exclusive and you can be recovered on the bongo wagon.
cost is euros 280 a time. You dont have to break down to be recovered, you could be flagged for spilling oil/coolant/petrol/cheese on the track and recovered in that fashion.
If you do break down ensure you climb over the armco if you are not flagging to warn others.
SRR covers as follows
T-Shirt
Run Pack (includes stickers/plagues etc)
Ferries
Hotel both ways
Campsite
Laps at Silverstone, Ring, Spa and BH for 09
BH2N
T shirt
Run pack
ferries
Hotels
Campsite
So essentially the cost difference covers the laps at the four tracks, i believe you get two laps at each track, so i guess that represents good VFM for the additionals required.
both cover the same thing, both go the same place, one has laps, one doesn't, one has some organised trips that are not compulsory, one doesn't, one has tomatoes, the other tomatos..... etc
your not forced to do anything on either trip, as to be expected you have to have your own free will....
All that should be said is make sure your car is in good working order before leaving and that doesn't just mean having a MOT....
the Ring is a dangerous place please take the nessecary care and precautions

Just because I'm curious and not because I'm trying to start an arugment, but I heard that this year SRR didn't get laps at either Spa or BH (not sure about Silverstone or the 'Ring), is this true?Laps at Silverstone, Ring, Spa and BH for 09

They are rumours, the machine was out of order, I checked

As a passenger I think I spent approx £250 including the camping fee, eating out lots, drinking lots, pass for the GP6 and other things I'm too tired to remember.
Oh Milka and clingfilm!

you dont have a say either if your car has lost a wheel as they will not tow it back to the camp, it goes back to there place, it also appears they just dump it in the corner if it looks unrepairable as was the case with mine, BUT just three weeks later it was at coombe swinging its thing

as shown in my sig below with taped up front end

with all what happened to me this year hasnt put me off, i shall be there next year, bring on the ring once more cant wait

From what i hear, they got 2 laps at Silverstone, and 3 at the Ring, I dont know about Spa, but beleive BH had double booked themselves and offered an evening track day as compensation??
Still 5 Laps in the cost of the event isn't half bad if you ask me...
Say a lap of any circuit is £15 then thats £75 to cover in the price straight off.
Looking at that link i missed quite a bit off the list of things included.....

Looking at that SRR link the only thing they offer over us are the parade laps, which aren't confirmed yet anyway.
