Yes it should. Looking at Taffy's 2nd piccy, with the pedal depressed the big nut you can see under the clutch arm should be hard up against the aluminium casing if there's a gap you can blame the hydraulics. Try pumping the clutch pedal a few times before holdinh it to the floor to change gear if that improves things it's another sign the hyrdraulics are faulty.

as i said sometimes i cant get it into gear at all but after a few attempts i can (JUST), sounds like hydraulics then??

what do you reckon then, dont understand how it can just go completley off over night?!?!

i really dont want to take things apart, il have another look but il probly never get them back together.

they sound like costly jobs, how much to replace them?

i dont think mine has exploded, i think i seen your topic where you heard a pop, a massive leak, and pushed your car home?? that you??

there was no major leak, so it could be mechanical, but as it was quite sudden, i imagine some sort of linkage fault but cant see anything..

any opinions?

im going to check the hydraulics using ethels test tomorrow with my glamourous assistance, i suppose if theres movement but not enough it has to be hydraulic, makes good sense.

rite, i had a look around the master and slave cylinders, there is no leaks that i can see, but when the clutch is depressed i cant see any movement coming from anywhere.

its funny because this morning it was tough to get into gear the first couple of times, but after that it seemed to cruise nicely between gears. also seems to do it more when starting from stationary.

im away to get a switch to sort these indicators out.

Probably the slave cylinder seals have gone, you wouldn't see any fluid leaking as the seals would be letting air into the system. Can buy a repair kit for a few quid or a new slave cylinder for something like £25, I would go with the kit, done mine a few months back and its like new.
