No, the Vmax kit is "suck through" so a normally aspirated carb is fine. CR will need to be lowered depending on boost, just the same as Turbocharging.u need a sealed carb and the correct cr also dont you?
Also need a A-series block, not A+ as the old one is stronger
I don't think you need to worry about that, i've never heard of anybody having any trouble with blocks, it's certainly not a known weak spot of the A-Series.
It's possible the material spec of the pre A+ blocks is slightly better, but the A+ blocks had extra ribs in the casting. After all, the Group "A" Metros, 220hp and all that, were all built using A+ blocks, and i'd guess at least 75% of the high power A-series engines running today are.
