The Oxford services could be a good meeting place for people coming from the south east area?

Yeah would be a good meeting place, i may be coming up on sunday - any idea on a time yet?

According to google maps its around 2hours from oxford services to Bingley. So would a good time to meet at oxford service be 7.15 to leave at 7.30? That allows 2.5 hours to get there whilst being stuck in traffic/getting lost etc!

I just wanted to be there for 10am, seeing as its only open until 4pm. Seems like a long drive to me for anything less than the full day!
You know you want to, Im going from Gatwick, your not too far from me anyway lol

It's not just me though lloyd, is Oli8925 and possibly a friend from Maidstone. If I told him we were leaving at 6am I think he would assume im barmy!!

Plus getting up that early is soooooo painful!!

Fair comment, I usually work an early shift so getting up at 530am is pretty normal to me! I should remember that it is technically the middle of the night lol. Maybe meet up for a convoy back instead...

7:15 is a wee bit early. It should (I say should hopefully) take about 1hour 30 mins/ 2hours to get there from Oxford as I do the drive from home to Wirral fairly often.

yeah sure, am already convoying with a few others on the way back so should be fun. Im not in my mini by the way, will be in french comfortable cruising mobile haha!

will keep an eye on thread and depending on developments with my passengers I may still join you. It is 3.5 hours from my house, so is prbably 2 hours from Oxford, maybe a little less Lloyd, and that is at comfortable speeds in a 2.0 car, so may take longer in minis (not saying they are slow but most dont like to rag them at a constant 90!!)

Isn't that exactly what I jus said?

It takes no longer than 2 hours if you drive at the limit.

edit: link doesn't work!! grr

but the aa route planner says 1hour 45 mins, but is always optomistic in my experience, TomTom is much more accurate!!

I have done home to Shrewsbury a few times and has always taken me about 3.5 hours on a good run. But then the last time i did that was about 9 months ago. Alwasy seems to take longer than the AA thinks, hence why I stopped using the planners and bought TomTom lol. But packed in driving 30k a year 6 months ago so things may have changed since (plus i now know the M40 and M6 like old friends lol!)
