Engine diagnostics still going on.

Comp test wasnt bad, added oil pressure gauge and its running at 50-55psi and idling at 25-30, so not bad there either. I just dont know what else to try to diagnose other than taking it all apart :D

any ideas are welcome as to what it might be. as you can hear from the vids, its kinda like darth vader breathing...

anyway, some pics of my gauge mountings :D I'm quite pleased with them

Brabham means sodding expensive to me! But lush, very lush. Basically the Cooper s of Viva's I guess you could say. About the same price tag too.

Its feels big and cumbersom compared to the Mini, not that I can remember what its like to drive one of those anymore >_<, but body roll is ridiculous, does make for quite a nice soft ride though, especially with the original wheels. but thats not my style so for now my superlights are there, and when I find the right ones, some chunky slotmags with -60mm springs and adjustable dampers will make corners more fun :techsupport:

Also as a quick update, got a weber 40 to go on, just waiting for my stage 3 head to be completed. Will be a while but should give a 25-30% power increase

Your Viva looks great on those wheels. Very nice subtle mods.

I love the speedo. It's like the warp factor from Original Star Trek.

Suggest you re-route emergency power through the plasma couplings or
you may lose hull integrity.

Loving the viva! it's beautiful.
I remember my dad had an HB Viva must have been when I was about 6 or 7, and I spent a lot of time with him when he was sorting it out. Welding, engine out, painting. Stripping the seats and walnut bits out of a super deluxe. He would pick me up from school and the car still had undercoat on. Must have been like that for ages! Eventually he painted it BRG. Looked good but certainly did not shift, having an 1100 engine!

Also I used to live with a guy who had a 2.3 Magnum in gold, same body shape as yours. Rostyles the lot. Now that was a beast. Hmm except until he wrapped it round a lamp post and put a big v shape in the bonnet! ;)

Great classic find.My friend had one mint of his dad in the old days. He had passed his test first we had some real fun in it.Keep it standard. One guy by me got 2g for a show class minter about 8 years ago.I got a great price for a VW Shrocco Zebra standard show car. They were nicked named that because of the seats and rare.
