How come this is in complete mini rebuild when it isnt a complete rebuild?
when i joined the site didnt have a clue what sections were what and to be honest the amount of components ive replaced not far off
in the next few years the cars going to stripped to a bare shell and then the shell modified to fit a wankle engine with rwd so watch this space wont be doing the wankle convo till after uni so probs go a zetec next year
bertie just passed mot with flying colours no advisories![]()
just shows when i take my time how things turn out
Calm down Jono. Its moving faster than your projects!
What do you mean calm down. It was a simple question.
he was telling you to not be gealous you dont suit green
(again more proof sean cant spell)
Its just a forum Jono, theres been enough progress for it to suit this sub-catergory i would have thought.
Stop haveing a go at Sean, Craig is the one that started this argument with Jono, not Sean.
Make sure you get your facts straight and read things a few times before you start having a go at people.

so yeah seems like the mini is staying spent alot of time over the last few weeks thinking and umming and arring and to be honest the 1275 pulls like a train, handles awesome and i can forget how cool the mini looks so yeh hes staying and ive started the interior revamp
so here some pics of todays attack
No offence mate, but you have seriously ruined that car. Repaired in the correct mannor, i.e; bodyshop repsraying the drivers door, sorting the front wings and abit of TLC on the interior and it would have been worth a few bob. I wasn't going to post anything as you slated me for selling you a so called *melon* car after the drive belt failed on it (burning down the motorway at 84mph gps for 2 hours on a 4 speed box poor thing) when you bought it off of me without even test driving it and had been garaged for several months. You were expecting a mint 1275 with MOT and Tax for £950 which I told you it wasn't. I was quite upset when you started giving me grief about the car, which was an utter steal in the first place. I was hoping to find the car presented back to it's former glory, but oh boy am I wrong

I just hope that by some miracle, you spend the money in the right place instead of replacing thing's that didn't need replacing in the first place.... The reason the back end feels floaty in comparison to the front is the lower profile tyres on front, the rears have a "thicker" style wall which has more compliance/flex in the side wall. As you know, the car was resprayed 12+ years ago, not a few years ago. There is a huge story behind that car!I would have kept it IF I knew a thing or 2 about bodywork

what i'd give to have a Mini, how sad is it to see the previous owner obviously upset to see what's going on.
it's definatly an attack i'll tell you that much!

whats your problem if you look at the thread from page one you'll see ive spent near 1k on the car since i got it from you i dont know where you get off saying i ruined it when all i have done is weld up the panel that had split from the wing and was getting worse not welded
i dont care where the hell do you get off having a go at me for looking after the car and restoring it how I the owner sees fit if i was an expert welder i may have done the repair work differently but im not get off your high horse Uks fastest mini and realise when you having a go for no reason what so ever

I get shifty to help with welding - its what he's good at
John has helped a great deal with the cabriolet - its his bag and he's good at it
Alex is working on an engine build for me - he's just plain better at understanding the complexities of it than I am.
dont rush in - take your time and ask yourself if you are totally confident in doing this - will you achieve the kind of results you want.
dont stop practising though - its the only way you'll get good at things.

dude - the welding
not sticking it into you, but do some research and talk to some people - there are very specific ways to approach this kinda thing, and sometimes you have to know your own limitations, and thats why sometimes its better to get someone else to help you out.

Exactly, there is no shame it not knowing, hell we all started somewhere!!
(remind someday to tell the story of the petrol can/arc welder/burned down garage/mini

Nobody is truely good at everything(not even me!!)
As Roofless said, I do enjoy welding and if you need any hints or pointers, just ask.
