Granted i wasnt best please when I had just travel 2 hours on the train to get a car that was sold to me by a mechanic and it breaks down after 5 mins
whats your problem if you look at the thread from page one you'll see ive spent near 1k on the car since i got it from you i dont know where you get off saying i ruined it when all i have done is weld up the panel that had split from the wing and was getting worse not welded
i dont care where the hell do you get off having a go at me for looking after the car and restoring it how I the owner sees fit if i was an expert welder i may have done the repair work differently but im not get off your high horse Uks fastest mini and realise when you having a go for no reason what so ever
i thought you were the chap with an engineering degree? Why didn't you spot the drive belt as looking unhealthy? Maybe it just happened to be one of those 'oh *melon*, thats why we have break down cover on a 1984 mini that's been parked up for months. Did you really expect a 1984 mini to be reliable for £950? I wasn't having a go, I was just stating the facts. What right did you have contacting me, threatening me to pay you for a new drive belt after you bought the car sold as seen? It certainly isn't a new car.
Do appologise if I upset you, hope you get the car to where you want it in the end

You can paint that weld any way you like, it'll never look good until you've done it properly.

He threatened you? Over a drive belt (I'm assuming fan belt)?!
Why was it not sold to me for £950?
These are the questions we must ask.
I do hope everyone can get along though, at the end of the day, if SFM does a bad job on the bodywork he'll have a rust bucket with all new parts!

when i got the car i was explaining i was going to be starting enginering next year so i have yet to atain anything near engineering level skills
i have only just finished level 2 motor vehicle aka the first step as a mechanic so ive never claimed to be an expert or anywhere near superb with cars
but im a hell of alot better with cars then alot of the garages ive experienced in my 3 years of motoring
im sorry but what was said by the previous owner was out of order in my eyes and here i was singing your praises to ian on facebook for what
please remember ive only been working on cars properly for 3 years so in many respects im a noob if one with Alot of experience for the time ive been with cars lets fact it 7 cars in 3 years everyone modified if sometimes in vain on bad cars but ive learnt alot and for what i paid for the car over 1ks worth of parts have gone into in less that the 9 months ive own it
right chest cleared fitted a new cobreau seat last night so the car feels so much more chuckable now

I got my new wiper motor stripped the motor off today and removed the mech from under the wiper, oiled and greased the cable, then removed excess oil and refitted with some jiggling, then attached the motor to the power to ensure it was parked, I then reattached the cable and put the cover on flicked the switch saw it was parking the blades at 10 o'clock strange I thought
So removed the cover and realised the motor was from a lhd mini arggggg.
So i had a think to see if i could swap the arm inside around no theasable way so rang jason at classic mini bits he told me to nip down and well swap it of another one
anywho had a look he agree the motor was wrong so had a look on the other motor he had and that was rhd one as needed, But was missing the c clip off the back of the wheel so that was no good
So i stripped my old motor and the new lhd one and greased the new motor casing and worm gear, Took the wheel out off the old motor and the arm off the new wheel and greased the lot with some castrol medium grease.
I reconstructed it and fitted it all back together and bobs your uncle FIXED

So now i have working wipers thats park and move freely

Then steve from LCMOC came over and had a look at his mini and we diagnosed the engine noise was the manifolds leaking lol
so thats my next job and then the saxo i shall be doing friday
