I always do!
I wonder if it is Ben Collins, if they'll still keep him as the Stig?

Might keep him if it is, but this time the stig identity revealing is a bit different to the last one who wrote it in his autobiography!

Jason Plato DID play the stig on more that one occasion! the fact that he does it annonimously and without any credit/ recognition means he can do it very easily.
When Mercedes refused to let Lewis hamilton appear on top gear driving anything other that their cars, he also did a slot as the stig.
If you ever saw the piece where they played 5 a-side football with Toyota Aygo's, all of the drivers involved in that piece have at one time or another played the part.

Jeremy Clarkson has again submitted planning permission to move the production office and top gear studios to Enstone Airfield near to his home in Oxfordshire and if succesful, the show will be overhauled again as it was when it changed from its previous format.

Has that got anything to do with refusal of planning permission to turn the airfield where it currently is into an actual race track?

No, they've been trying to move to an airfield in Enstone for years. The first time they tried they gave up their lease at Dunsfold and were all ready to move but got refused permission at the last minute. That was when they had to suddenly move into a different building at Dunsfold (their original was no longer available) that they didn't really want as it was initially too big and expensive. They then came to an agreement to let a movie use half of their stage space while they kept the other half. It wasn't a great arrangement to be honest because there was only a black drape seperating their set from ours and we had to stop shooting during their taping and rehearsing days but it did save them some cash. Since then they seem to be using yet another building there for the interiors. Also during their time at Dunsfold they once fell out with the guy who runs the place when they realised he was selling space on the side of that 747 (that he bought specifically for this purpose for little money as the airframe is out of hours, then sold the engines for loads) for advertising and getting it onto BBC prime time. You'll notice that on the Dave repeats a lot of the track stuff has been heavily edited to remove shots of the 747. The plane was towed by Jeremy to a less obvious place on the airfield, on purpose of course but they had to pay the guy a lot to use it as a prop. It's been a prop in lots of other things since too.

I suspect that Enstone will refuse permission again and they'll stick with Dunsfold for a while yet, although I think I'm right in saying that all the unsold Rovers have disappeared from Enstone lately so maybe they'll need the money and come to an arrangement with the council.

Jammy that was about 2 years ago, I'm not still on the same film now and strangely it's not still shooting! It was called Agent Crush. I don't think they share their stage with anyone any more. We used to get Wednesday afternoons off (or maybe the taping day was Thursday then, I can't remember) so we didn't have to deal with their audience and the parking chaos outside the stage. On rehearsal days we both had to cope with each other though, it was Ok because we were a model unit and not shooting sound and they were only rehearsing. We were competing for noise level though and our explosions were often louder than the Lambo they seemed to be testing quite often. Haven't I said this before? It seems familiar.

Hmmm, possibly. Anyway you could start working for Top Gear's production team then, and then get me on to the set?! :) :D Failing that, can you give me some tickets! :D

There's a company at enstone that do rally driving/ racing cars and they got refused permission to build a track... Top gear were told by West Oxfordshire District Council that they would look favourably on moving the top gear track there, so they put in planning and had all the locals up in arms so it got rejected....

They are currently working on revised plans which would involve building a Bund to direct sound upwards and other niceties to appeas the old farts who live nearby.. The "Airfield" which is home to aeroplanes also has an industrial estate, part of which needs ear deffenders because its so loud on one side, and a clay pigeon shoot on the other... and a huge battery chicken farm that stinks... so it's hardly an area of natural beauty

I think that they will get it in the end... Clarkson wants it closer to home.

it is almost definate that there is more than one driver.
the list i have come up with soo far of most likly and almost definates:

bruno senna (fact, have seen proof)
jason platoe
tiff nedel
ben collins
jenson button
david coulthard
perry mcarty (chances are, since he was the old stig, they still have him as new stig occasionally)
almost certain that lewis hamilton has done
Paul swift does some aswell

Why would they send the actual driver to a bloody photo shoot? for a start, its only a guy in a suit, it doesnt matter who wears it, they still look the same.

Chris
