Im with adrian flux and they basically said most cosmetic/safety upgrades wont effect your policy. The premium increases with regards to the horsepower increse of your engine mods.

Im with footman james, have been for 2 years. £450 it cost me this year... they dont mind what mods you do, so any wheels, any seats, a rollcage and brake setup, they dont mind... i rang up and said can i put a fibreglass front on? they put me on hold and i though uh oh premium increase! but they just said, ill make a note that you are going to... lol
i might have to go to 1275 if its only £100 more!!
hmm well i got told i had to take my rollcage out on my classic policy...

Or a car made by ReliantOh and a Scimitar is a tank.

Insurance for young people, especially men, is always going to be a nightmare. Best to ring companies as they can't account for every possibility in an online quote. I'm sure people have already said that but I am lazy!

I had this problem insuring my mini, im sure insurance companies have got something against them.
Im 19.. paid £1467 for my 998cc modded mini, (12G295 head, alloys, tints, sound system.. etc), this failed MOT so i sold it on. Ive now got a
1.7 turbo diesel vauxhall astra estate.. I pay £390
I also have a 2.0 litre ford capri... I pay £790
I dunno wht it is with minis but how you can pay more for a 998cc mini than for a 2.0 Ford Capri i will never know, maybe its because the Capri is so quick you miss all the accidents!
a 2l capri isnt exactly quick lol (presuming its a pinto lump or even Zetec, power to weight is poo)
i pay £1098 a year for a b16 vtec mini all mods declared so. Im 22 with 4 years no claims was over the moon with that price.

why did u put a 1380 in then ? why didnt you just tune a 848... it would have been alot cheaper and its not like its hard to get a 848 to accelerate from 0-60 in 9 secs...
In insurances eyes a engine modification is a modification, be it a lame 850, or a fire breathing 1380, either way be prepared to bend over.

Try the comparison sites, they all came up with different quotes for me.
Alloy wheels and arch extensions added nothing to my policy either, and air filter/ exhaust added around £20
Try:
