It's a 998cc Auto, Open Top Mayfair. Hardly built for the 'ring but it's a great car for enjoying the warm summer weather.
Last year it had a general tidy up. All brakes (drums all round) and suspension refurbed/replaced.
For the coming trip, plans are minimal:
- Slight overheating problem to solve
- Ignition overhaul
- Timing to setup
- Fuelling to setup correctly
- Drivers window mechinism to fix
- Oil filter canister to weld - slight leak
- Pot joint oil seal to replace (one side only, other done last year)
- Oil pressure sensor to replace - currently leaking
- New tyres (possibly)
- Sandblast and paint wheels (possibly)
- Stage one kit (possibly - it would be nice to have a meaty exhaust sound)

I'm starting to think my 1380 isn't going to be enough now!
i ran a 1380 last year and proved to be spot on, your be ok aslong as your not running lower than a 3.44 diff,
but its not all about going as fast as you can

I just watched your lap, looks good. I just wasn't sure about to the 1380 having enough go in it for the 'ring but I think having the bank asking me if I want a loan has also brought the thought on!

In 2006 I did it in a 998 and it was still good fun!

I'm starting to think my 1380 isn't going to be enough now!
had a standard 850 go in 06
the drive there is not that fast speed limit is 65 on the motorways ( though things do go a lot fast)
and as for the ring dont have to be going that fast
to do a ten minute lap have to average 75mph as per clarkson in the jaguar the other year

Nick did the math on my 9:44 and i had to average 81.6mph, which for 16 seconds difference is a fair speed.
