they never made 900cc mini, J reg Mayfair will probably be a 998. 65mph is low, should manage between 70-80

Shes quite loud, and Her Harnesses are so tight you cant reach the mobile phone in the Glove box and end up dropping it

XXXmph in my old car... on a private road... your honour! it's not all about the top speed.... not what minis are all about.
If 65 is all you are getting, id suggest a decent service to start with, Oil and filter, Air filter, spark plugs, leads, distributor cap etc... sounds like your car has been ragged and poorly maintained.
Edited for reasons of legality.

that could be according to your speedo! try it with a sat nav! as the speedo cable could of got twisted and deformed over years but as big gav said, good service wont go a miss
private road, actually a very rich persons drive lol, i managed to get the factory spec top speed of my car, of 92 mph! 1275 spi sprite! was well chuffed!

mines a 998 standard neon with a bloody big roof rack and does 90 without shouting too much.
more without the rack
Im with the others on this one reckon you should service it plugs points and filters

Most i got out of mine was 80, that was pushing it but didn't fancy giving it much more, pretty much a standard 998 engine from a metro (with a silly exhaust)
