to be honest the actual cake in the picture looks rather bland and boring lol.

well the treacle pudding if you want to give it a go

100g (4oz) Self raising flour or 100g (4oz) of plain flour and 1 tps of baking powder
100g (4oz) Butter
100g (4oz) Sugar
1tsp Vanilla essence (not essential but adds flavour)
2 Eggs (Beaten)
2-3 tbsp of Treacle
1 pint size microwavable bowl

1. Creme the butter and sugar together
2. gradually beat the eggs into the cremed sugar and butter, Add vanilla essence
3. Gradually fold in the flour.
4. place the treacle into the bottom of the microwavable bowl.
5. Pour cake mixture over the top
6. Place in microwave for 4 mins (time depends on the power of the microwave.. 4 mins based on a Cat E 800w microwave)
7. Pull out of the microwave and Serve (careful the treacle will be very hot!!)

If you wanted a chocolate one just replace a little bit of flour with cocoa powder.

Just did it with self raising flour and nescafe and much to my surprise it was no worse than the average supermarket cake :D

Need to get some coco powder next time i'm at the shops

Haha classic, just made this in my I.T lesson today >_< No-one believed I could make a cake using a microwave, everyone was pleasantly suprised! Made it in a bowl though, too big for a mug I think!

have some pics! Might upload later :D It was quite aesthetically pleasing too!

I made a microwave cake in school some 13-14 years ago, I remember it being rather good. Shame I forgot how to make it.

Still it can't beat Mummy's chocolate cake >_<

I have just made this using 3 tablespoons of self raising flour (had no cake flour) and hot chocolate (had no cocoa) and can confirm it is yummy

Please allow time for it to cool though, I have just burnt my tongue repeatedly from wanting to eat it too quickly :)
