Or then again, it might not be fine for a bit.
That's like fallign out of a window.
So far so good, so far so good, so far . . .
And analogy of the day goes to...
You are told that if replacing a wheel and you lose the four nuts, (i.e. down a drain), then take on nut of each other wheel to fit the spare. Use this to get the car to a safe place, (i.e. off the road to the nearest car park), and then get recovered.
Driving like this is not clever, and while some people may get away with it, there are potentially massive financial and social penalties to pay the second it goes wrong.

Well dont worry guys i decided against using it tonight. Im gonna have to wait until friday or saturday to fit the new one though
Good stuff, use the time to get the car up, and get the wheel and hub off ready to fit the new stud. A much better use of time, then as soon as it drops through the letter box you can fit it all together and be back on the road. Weather's meant to be crap til the end of the week, but a lovely weekend anyway!

I just wouldn't risk it at all, glad you went with the safe option.. theres no point listening to the numptys telling you to take a risk as great as that..

Well yes, because a Chrysler Voyager (if it's anything like my old one) will topple over well before there is anything like serious cornering forces involved!!!

yeah it'll be fine for abit, my mate once had a 405 & someone stole a wheel & the 4 nuts! so in a quick repair we chucked on the spare & a wheel nut of the other 3 wheels "all wheels now had 3 nuts on" & it stayed like that for about 10 months being used daily
Thats a bit stupid for the sake of a trip to your local dealer and £10
yer it is safe but then think about it if one has gone why? hmm maybe the others could go. could be due to someone putting the wheel back on with an airgun and not a torque wrench co they should be 80Nm. and if you have an acsdent you wont be insured
you must be one of these guys that thinks it's safe to go into a petrol station and spark up a fag next to the petrol pump whilst someone filling their car up...

That should have failed it's MOT
Your all giving your story's about wheel nuts/bolts missing.. but one thing is your all talking about modern cars where the studs/bolts are a lot bigger diameter and can take a lot more stress than the 9/16th wheel stud of a mini..
The bottom line of it is it's not safe in the slightest, you may have done it and got away with it.. Anyone remember the accident that happened on the M23 a few years ago on the sunday afternoon that London to Brighton was on.. it was caused by a wheel coming off of a BMW, the wheel jumped the central reservation hit an oncoming car killing all the occupants of the vehicle and causing a mass pile up in both directions...
those who think it's safe.. think again, how would you feel if your family/loved ones got wiped out because someone couldn't be bothered to go and get another wheel bolt/nut

AMEN dude! What the hell is the point in driving around for 6months / 10months when you know you have nuts missing! For the cost of new ones i think you people deserve to have your licences taken away! Its people like you who cause "accidents" and ruin peoples lives. This kinda thing really jars me off. Yes some people may have done it with no issues, but for the sake of a new stud/a few bolts, is it REALLY worth the risk? ESPECIALLY for months on end?!!!!
